Where is Gibson

I meant by the Bristol comparison. I agree he needs to invest better and get help.
Bristol City is an example of a club who have made little progress on the field, but lots of progress off it.
People could be tempted to buy Bristol City. Big place, decent fanbase and lots of potential, just like us. No real history or reputation, unlike us.
Their financial status is however light years better, because their owner has invested equity in the club, rather than just financing it with loans. They have actually given the money to the club, not loaned it. They are solvent/have book value and market value. A buyer would be buying a genuine going concern with potential; because their owner has invested.
Now they have subsequently spent and not gained promotion, so they have not been successful on the pitch, just like us, but their owner has effectively spent this.
That is why I mentioned them.

Gibson doesn't invest, he offsets debt within his Group. So he needs to start investing before we say "he needs to invest better".
He does need to "get help", but it needs to be expert help and it needs to be empowered.

Bristol City. Jesus. You're comapring us with Bristol City.:LOL::LOL:
Says far more about the veracity of your Gibson out campaign than I ever could.

Our club can be compared to any other.
Both have done nothing on the pitch of note.
Off the pitch, one is going forward, the other is sinking.

I think someone finding it so hilarious to compare us with Bristol City is deluding themselves. We aren’t the club we once we were under Gibson. His decisions have systematically taken us further and further down. Arrogant to laugh off a comparison with Bristol when you think about how far we’ve dropped. I think it’s the boiling frog thing. It’s been a relatively slow decline but it’s been a systemic one. Season after season of neglect and rank bad decisions and here we are - team that in my opinion is going to be lucky to stop up.

And that comparison with Bristol City shows the desperation of the argument against Gibson.

A man who rescued the club, a man who has steered this club to play amongst the European elite and a man that bred two futire England Managers and a man that brought the club it's first ever major trophy.

And a man that's getting castigated for loaning the club £10's millions of his own personal money.

Bristol City. OMG.
You really do need to pop up the road with the other rara's.

I really hop you lot don't get the club you deserve.

I don't see much substance to your argument here. It's all based on past achievements, which were great, and emotion. I've supported this club since well before Gibson and I will support it after he's gone if I live long enough. It's not rara to criticise the man. It's rara to back him blindly and never question him.

Gibbo deserves all the credit in the world for helping to save the club and for taking us on those journeys. I just don't think that should insulate him from justified criticism now for almost a decade of decline and poor decisions. He pays the bills so he can make whatever decisions he likes but you can't deny that those decisions have taken us backwards in the last 10 years especially wasting the opportunity promotion gave us to really put the club on a solid footing. SO yeah he continues to put money into the club and prop it up but ultimately there have been loads of chances for him to stop the bleed thatr makes that necessary. We've been a club of failure now for a decade. Just a fact. You might be happy with that but I'm not because with the ticket sales, prices, money spent on players etc we shouldn't be where we are and with better decisions we wouldn't be.

A man who`s sacked six Managers in 5 years. [Karanka / Monk / Pulis / Woodgate / Warnock / Wilder]
That means he chose six Managers who have all failed.
A club that has flirted with relegation since Southgate - Strachan / Mowbray / Woodgate / Warnock / Wilder
A club which has had one embarrassing year in the Premiership since 2009.
Thank you Mr Gibson.
I wouldnt suggest he buggas off, but look at the facts and ask if he`s out of his depth?
Its no longer 1986 - the year after Live-Aid or when the Oprah Winfrey Show made its debut and Bananarama were in the charts with "Venus".
Hes a decent chap - but all this worship is like the Chinese worshipping Chairman Mao after the success of "The Long March".
If investment is needed - then bring others onboard.
Maybe thats what worries him?

He’s in his ivory tower surrounded by nodding dogs, he doesn’t think he needs to speak to anyone.

Let’s remember his last three pieces of communication:

1) Most people in Stockton support Sunderland
2) Vote Tory
3) We want to smash the league

Yeah , local owners are something to be proud of (cough cough Mel Morris )

Im sure the geordies are gutted they’ve got owners who will win them countless cups and bring some of the biggest stars in world football to them . Im sure they hark back for the days Freddy shepherd owned them
The day we're taken over by murderous b***ds is the day my season card is sent back.

100% agree

Yet local journos continue to peddle the myth he “pumps £1m a month into the club”

You need to
Boo Gibsons crap cause he spent too much money on Monks signings.
Booo Gibsons crap cause he spent too much money on Puliss signings.
Boooo Gibsons crap cause he didn't spend enough on Wilders signings.
Booooo Gibsons crap cause he sacked Southgate too early when we were in the playoffs.
Boooooo Gibsons crap cause he sacked Wilder too late after an international break.
Booooooo Gibsons crap cause he hired Woodgate with no experience.
Boooooooo Gibsons crap caused he hired Warnock and he's an old dinosaur.
Booooooooo Gibson shouldn't have bought Downing and Rhodes even though we went up.
Boooooooooo Gibson should have signed Muniz when we had the chance.
Booooooooooo Gibson shouldn't have let Bamford and Tav be sold.
Boooooooooooo Gibson shouldn't let Assombalonga and Fletcher leave on frees.
You need to lay of the Boos for a while 😉

We had a go at least
Booo Gibsons crap cause he spent too much money on Puliss signings.
Tried to fix it at least
Boooo Gibsons crap cause he didn't spend enough on Wilders signings.
£10m isn’t exactly pocket change
Booooo Gibsons crap cause he sacked Southgate too early when we were in the playoffs.
He thought he was doing what was best
Boooooo Gibsons crap cause he sacked Wilder too late after an international break.
That’s on Wilder by the sounds of it.
Booooooo Gibsons crap cause he hired Woodgate with no experience.
He kept costs down and gave him his chance.. he deserved a shot
Boooooooo Gibsons crap caused he hired Warnock and he's an old dinosaur.
Warnock was class
Booooooooo Gibson shouldn't have bought Downing and Rhodes even though we went up.
We owed Downing for sticking with us in the prem and signing a new contract. Rhodes seemed too good to be true.. a few connections with Boro as I remember.
Boooooooooo Gibson should have signed Muniz when we had the chance.
Warnock’s fault
Booooooooooo Gibson shouldn't have let Bamford and Tav be sold.
No one wanted Britt Assombalonga and Dael Fry didn’t want to move
Boooooooooooo Gibson shouldn't let Assombalonga and Fletcher leave on frees.
We tried to sell, swap, loan them out

The emperors new clothes are an on-going saga not a season.
Maybe col for a few on here...but honestly...call me slow...I'm just to say starting to ser there is a flaw in the machine.. and I think its going to keep happening.

Been a boro fan 47 years ....love gibbo....so much its very very hard to believe he's doing anything deliberately wrong...but I'm just starting to lift the rose coloured specs a millimetre or 2...

You do understand that it doesn’t have to be a murderous regime as the only alternative. Key is for Gibson to write off his mistakes to encourage someone else to take his place with intention to invest and better capability.
I’ll not be holding my breath re him writing off his mistakes.

Of course I do but so many on here keep bringing up Newcastle and Man City as shining examples of a possible future.
