What Would a Decent Playoff Run Look Like?

'It's a Numberwang' - 3 results in a row after beating the 2nd best team in the division. 59 points doesn't look impressive and the opposition have written us off.

3rd Swansea vs Boro L
10th Boro vs Stoke W
13th Boro vs Preston W
11th Millwall vs Boro W 9 points

A CHANGE GONNA COME!!


'The Group of Death' - nothing to lose, too crazy to die. pressure for the big boys in the tops six.. we are pure skid marks coming into this. 68 points looks ok might still have us outside of the top six.. would have to average 1.5ppg in the last four to finish on 74.. 77 might be needed to win it.

7th Bournemouth vs Boro W
2nd Boro vs Watford L
6th Barnsley vs Boro W
16th Boro vs QPR W 9 points

If there's a chance then there's a very big chance.. compounding possibilities in the background holding us in favour.


'The Upsy Daisy Group' looks favourable on paper but if these teams at the bottom are still fighting for survival.. it might be tricky!

22nd Boro vs Rotherham W
23rd Sheff Wed vs Boro W
14th Luton vs Boro W
24th Boro vs Wycombe W 12 points

if we have a chance and there is a chance we could blow it.. it would here

I guess there’s no Harm now as it’s such a tin pot crazy season for everyone what’s to say some team will do a Cardiff towards the end and scrape in and then ding dong results in play offs and going up bizarrely . If ever it’s going to happen it’ll happen this season
 
I love your optimism ‘newy’ but I have to agree with Cd that it’s not going to happen. If your 11 games out and already relying on favours you’re doomed. To play as well as we did today and come away with nowt seems to be the writing on the wall, and unfortunately for us not a “Banksy”.
If Barnsley win their game in hand we’re 10 points off the playoffs with 11 to go, so even if we do go on a good run we’re still relying on say Bournemouth or Barnsley falling off a cliff.
Apart from Barnsley if you look at the goal difference of the teams above us they all deserve to be where they are, the only difference between us and Barnsley is they’ve added consistency to their stats which for Boro this season has been sadly absent.
Hoping for the miracle but not losing sleep over it!

I think we will fall just short but we probably need to :

Preston (W)
Millwall (D)
Bournemouth (W)
Watford (L)
Barnsley (L)
QPR (W)
Rotherham (W)
Sheff W (W)
Luton (W)
Wycombe (W)

That would get us to 75 points. If we lose to Bournemouth then we probably need to beat Watford or Barnsley.

As individual games they are all do-able results, but, it's doing it with no room for error now, that's the tough bit, we need no more dodgy refs and we need to be on it every game.
