What was your first ever Boro home game?

November 1982.
Middlesbrough 1 - Blackburn 5
Not the greatest start to watching the Boro. It was one of the main games on match of the day also. I can remember Stephen Bell playing really well and the rest is a blur!!! Things could only get better.

How would you possibly forget?

because I was about 6 and all the matches blended into one large memory, which probably spanned the course of about 10 games. I dont know how any could remember such detail, if their first game was before they reached say, their 8th birthday.

28th April 1987 Boro 3 Gillingham 0 ( Stephens, Slaven, Turnbull) 11'937

It was a Tuesday night...I remember going on the bus with my Dad and older brother. We sat in the North Stand...loved every single minute.

It was on here recently. Feb 1965 FA Cup 5th (?) round. 0-3 v Leicester.

3 recollections - sure Boro had the white shoulder kit; Arthur Horsefield 'scored' with his hand; old bloke next to me telling the steward to get Raich Carter down here to open the gate, and then he can eff off as well.

How times change ...

To my shame, no recollection at all of Gordon Banks in goal for Leicester.

1-0 home defeat to Tranmere in Robson's first season. Stood in the South-East corner. I think not being able to see in my younger days is part of the reason why standing at games has never really appealed to me!
Didn't Steve Vickers score their goal with a free-kick from about 200 yards?

BORO V Blackburn Rovers night cup game....1959/60 I think, I was 9 or 10 and remember Alan Peacock scoring....sure there was about 47,000 packing Ayersome Park that night...bit overwhelming for a schoolby from Whitby in those days....and the van my Dad and I got a lift in with 5 other adults was gone when we came out...driver had parked it on a corner of Clive Road and the police has moved it...got home about 2am ......and hooked 😊

vs Aston Villa. December 27th 1976.

Won 3-2 with a David Mills hattrick.

Don´t remember much except how green the pitch looked (we only had a black and white telly) and the vivid red of the shirts. Also Jack Charlton collecting the tracksuit tops.

Not sure who it was against. In fact all I remember is that I was on my dad's shoulders and I seem to recall a blond haired player prominent on the field, perhaps Wilfy Mannion of course. In fact that's my earliest memory. I think we were in the stand on the left looking from the Holgate End.
