What vinyl have you bought recently / dusting off for a play?

Christ just opened this thread on my desktop PC and had no idea those photos were so big!

The mobile app must just resize for display.

I'm currently weighing up my approach for telling the girlfriend that I'll be buying a Rega Planar 6
I've got a 6 with the Ania Pro cart. It's lovely

Only recently started playing my old vinyl after the Mrs bought me a turntable.
Gone through a lot of my old Albums Pink Floyd ,Lou Reed . Deep Purple and lots of 70s 80s stuff.
At the back of one box I found one I hadn't thought about for over 30 years
Step forward The Bad and Lowdown World of the Kane Gang.
I'd forgotten just how good they were. Great Album.

We are moving house soon and need to offload a load of stuff, one being a lovely Hitachi direct drive turntable. If anyone is interested then let me know.

What did you get?

It's a Sony don't know the number off the top of my head. Think it was £239. Sounds very rich and I love the noise it makes as it sets down.
I also love reading the album covers and the bumf that comes with them. You don't get that feeling with cds or downloads.
Yeah I like that too, having all the lyrics etc is great too

Just got back from London and got Ren'a new album to flick through.

Interested in people's thoughts on phono stages - am going to demo some setups soon, but have seen various price points for phono stages/preamps.

For example project do a fairly cheap one for £50 or so, and many amplifiers have built in phono stages. Then rega / Graham slee and others do some mm/mc ones at around £200, and then there's stuff like Rega aria which is £1,100 or Graham slee accession similar price point

Do you get a noticeable jump in quality at those points?

I used to just use my receiver for playing music but got a lyngdorf stereo amplifier which drastically improved everything accross HT, music etc and that wasn't cheap, but a phono preamp would only be for the turntable and while I'm not adverse to shelling out for quality, I'm trying to anticipate just how big that quality jump is for such a big price jump. At the same time I don't want to have decent speakers, decent amplified, decent turntable and a cheap phono preamp as a weak point in the chain

I'm looking at pairing it with Rega p6 with Ania or Ania pro most likely
