What did wilder say after that display

Just heard what he has said in the gazette, Jesus, no commitment at all when he could’ve been a bit more reassuring to fans.
I think he is either playing a hard game with Gibson for more funds or he’s decided Burnley offers more and he’s just waiting for the official offer.
Absolute disgrace if he goes after being here 5 mins!

The way we play isn't the problem, itsvthe personnel.

We aren't good enough at the front end of the team; none of the forwards has done it consistently, we need a bigger threat from the left flank and the midfielders need to create more and score more than they do.

But we're not a million miles away under this manager, or this team
If you haven't got the players to be play in your perfect system then you have to be a pragmatist. You can't change the player's so you must change the system or keep failing. If you have no other style of play or formation to fall back on then it's a failing as a manager

Bielsa at Leeds

Having reread it, I think he’s maybe made an **** out of frostily answering a question that has basically got his back up.
I think he’s going nowhere. He’s just made a mess out of his answer.
You’d hope so, but he’s had a few chances to put it to bed and hasn’t.

Rooney reply when asked same question

Discussing the links, Rooney said: “I think it is a compliment to me and the staff, and what we have been trying to do here [at Derby], when you are getting linked with Premier League clubs.

“I was surprised when I saw Sean Dyche had been sacked, he has been brilliant for Burnley for the last 10 years.

“I have seen the links in various news articles but for me what is important is I focus on trying to keep the club [Derby] in this division and the future, my future, depends on this takeover, that needs to be completed.”

Is agree he's answered it badly, but with maybe more of an eye on a bit of needle against the reporter asking the question than how it would sound in a wider context. He's trying to say why would a prem team be trying to poach him after the display his team has just put on, and its a nonsense question unless he is winning games of football.

I dont think he'll go but, if he does, then he has no integrity whatsoever so I'll not lose any sleep over it.

I think he has to play the way he believes will get results and whilst doing so work out who can, and can't, work within it.

Let face it were not a million miles from a very competent team at this level, but we've got a thin squad and lack a quality striker or two.

Not looking good….
No, he mentioned something quite recently in regards to Short/Medium term goals, the future etc saying something along the lines of ‘who knows what the future holds’ - I thought it was strange at the time because of the change in tone from previous medium/long term goals/big project/promotion plan 2-3 years to get there etc.

It was before Dyche went and wouldn’t surprise me if it coincided with our recent fall off.

Maybe it makes sense for all parties? More money for Wilder, compensation for Boro, Daniel Farke reunion for Keiran Scott.. and Burnley get Boro’s Promotion Plan on the cheep. If Wilder get’s the opportunity to keep Burnley up, then I’m sure he’ll be aware of players we would have been going for should we have managed promotion.

Inside info on release clausee for the likes of Tavernier, Fry & Jones.. maybe?

Could be less harmonious behind the scenes than is being let on. I'm sure connelly and especially Balogun are Wilder signings that he has pushed for and both have been underwhelming to say the least. Maybe Kieron Scott has started to question his judgment and Wilder doesn't like it.

Gotta also think personally, he can move back to Stockbridge and get to Burnley in an hour max. Will also be a lure. He will enjoy the challenge of keeping them up with a bumper payday bonus OR he bounces back with a strong team that would only need a couple tweaks. Not looking good, he’s off imo

Wilder has just bought a house near Eaglescliffe Golf Club, but that can soon go back on the market I guess.

He has to take some responsibility. He called Lumley out, and rightly so, but persisting with a formation that isn’t working, and strikers that can’t even get a shot on target, some of that has to fall on him and his coaches.
He loaned 2 stinkers, inherited a loanee that has no future at the club, and Watmore is a 5 goals a season man. Coburn is still green. The January loanees are on him, but the others wouldn’t get into any of the other top 8 sides. Makes settling on a formation difficult (not helped by Crooks going AWAL (in more ways than one)).
