What could be opened on this road map

Libraries must be high up the list. Books cannot be banned for too much longer and I do prefer the the real thing to Kindling.

Museums may not be on the list of everyone's priorities but they have a social distancing plan they can put in place for ticketing and time slots, even in free spaces like the Dorman Museum.

If they don't re-open barbers shortly I will be auditioning for a status quo tribute act. Sadly I cannot see that or pubs happening any time soon.

See no reason why people can't go golfing, fishing, walking, climbing or any other fairly solitary pastimes. Thing is, it's the thin end of the wedge. Would it mean that it's okay to use public transport for fairly lengthy journeys again or would these still remain off limits? We don't need to hear Johnson blustering on this point. Firm guidlines are required.

This is going to be about opening up the economy. Workers generally encouraged back to work, but anyone else only allowed out to spend money in the businesses that are opened up. Fishing, hiking etc. wouldn't come into that category.

Public transport?

Public transport?
That's generally running at the moment, although I rarely see more than two people on a bus. It will open sufficiently to get people to work and shoppers to their local shopping centre. Masks will be encouraged but not mandatory.

Why the mask though if social distancing is in place?

It's difficult to socially distance on a bus and the tube. That's why I think Boris introduced the thoughts on masks in his briefing last week.
Wouldn't it just make sense to make masks compulsory then and not focus so much on staying 6ft apart which is going to be impossible to keep to in the long run..

That's a very good point Bear that I hadn't considered.

I think social distancing will be with us either through law, guidelines or subconscious distancing until a working vaccine appears. Even flu vaccines are only 30-70% effective so there will be a lot of caution.

Yeah I get the premise will be there but if people are wearing a mask some will believe they don't have to social distance as it's aiming for the same result as wearing a mask yes?

Looks like the 2m is being considered dropping to 1m if the linked report is right. (It's 1.5m in some countries like Holland.)

2 meters isn't sustainable. Look at a classroom for example, one teacher had said in the gazette with the current social distance rules they could only teach 8 pupils per class and would have to deliver them lunch instead of having them all on one hall. Ridiculous.
