What could be opened on this road map

It shouldn't be just particular types of places, it should be those that can and will enforce social distancing.
There was a piece on the news about the opening of baby clothes shops in Italy and they were in one where even the owner and her one employee were struggling to social distance.
I'd say that places need to be assessed and given permission to open and told in no uncertain terms that failure to enforce the rules would result in closure.
It may seem harsh, but you can already see standards slipping.

Agree it has to be about social distancing. The problem is you can not trust the public to self distance alone. You have the accidental ones who occasionally forget, the deliberate ones who pretend they forgot, then the ones Who think 18 inches = 2M and finally the f**k you I’ll do what I want brigade.

This is without doubt a conundrum that needs very careful thought. I think it is manageable in certain establishments even some restaurants. It becomes an issue if alcohol is served in an establishment though as I hear it affects an individuals personal fookwitometer

Pubs should be one of the last on the last. Did y weekly shop last night and virtually no one is adhering to social distancing anymore. Poor Tesco has wasted a fortune on sticking one way arrows on the floor that get entirely ignored.

Shops that normally have only one customer in at any one time. In other words, family-run jewellers, opticians etc. Won't make a big difference but it's a start.

Given the owner fo the chain didn't want to no. I really hope people boycott them but I really doubt they will.

This is the real problem though. There are loads of posts everywhere about shopping local. Some local greengrocers, butchers, etc have done great jobs of delivering supplies to their communities, but once this is over many people will default back to the whatever's the cheapest option. This is what attracts people to Wetherspoons.

Depressing isn't it? Morals and treating people right are less important than cheap beer.
