French Border Patrol ships have been filmed escorting "dinghies of illegal immigrants" across the Channel to help them to land on the UK coast despite taking cash from us to deal with the problems on their side.

Who said chivalry was dead ? Vive la France.

It was an article with Farage associated to it 1finney, but I read it in today's Times although the French "assistance " was filmed and appears in a couple of places and looks genuine. Why wouldn't it be though because we know a friendly push in our direction is not beyond Les Blues ?
 
It’s just both The Times and Farage have an agenda here.
I’d like to think The French wouldn't encourage illegal migration. Indeed live news reports last year focussed on French police going to all sorts of lengths to stop migrants getting on lorries.

I’m sure there will be some getting though - some are desperate and most are resourceful.

I saw it with my own eyes last year: yes the French definitely do their best to stop people getting on lorries bound for England.

What I don't get is why the refugees want to come to the UK. We are continual told on here that we are going to be worst off in the UK after Brexit is completed. They still come, going through Germany and France to get here why?

I suspect they think a worse off UK is preferable to being hunted down and killed
More likely to speak our language too
 
The English language is a huge factor. Although the likes of Spanish and French are widely spoken nothing compares to English.
 
Bit of a stupid question.
If you want a discussion please feel free though.
There are millions of refugees in both France and Germany.
They appear to have different preferences as to where they want to go.
 
So if everyone who spoke English and wanted to come to the UK, where would we put them. As you know the NHS is creaking under the pressure of the people in the country at moment.
 
You said you didn’t understand why they want to come here given declining economy.
A couple of people have given you some thought as to why.

To your new point - the government are claiming credit for the fact our NHS is not creaking under any pressure. They have even decommissioned rather extra hospitals they built.

It sounds like you don’t want refugees here - is that right?
