Just listening to Rebecca Long-Bailey talking about donations to MP's and Political Parties.

She was saying that MPs shou;d not be allowed to hold second jobs and that they should be dedicated to their role as a public servant. She talked about total transparency of donations - as she called for when she ran for Labour leader.

Shes Right - good to hear somebody that has nothing to hide and calling out this merky world of hidden agendas and funding from companies that are hard to track down.

Makes a change for an MP to be speaking sense.

MPs: the only group in society who refer to their largest source of income as their "second" job

99% of them are bent if not all. They will do and say anything so long as they keep their job as an MP thanks to all the perks that go with it. You won't find a single one of them worried about their Gas/Electric Bills that is taken care of at the expenses office like all the other stuff . Some of them are so greedy they put claims in for remembrance day wreaths .

Odd that you should only mention the 12th highest earning individual, who happens to be the only Labour MP in the top 18
I honestly haven’t seen the list I saw starmer getting quizzed about lammy specifically. I don’t think it’s party specific, as said earlier they are all at it!

All in the trough for their own wellbeing, regardless of party colour or belief. All of them have no interest in either you or I, just what they can get their hands on.

'some exceptions' will doubtless include the legal profession.
I have no idea Jack. I don't really have a problem with some jobs. The shadow mental health minister is an A&E doctor. Some roles are clearly to garner favours for the company. Isn't lammys biggest outside salary lbc? Hardly a political role.
