Well the pubs in our village are open again

I love pubs, and I love watching a match in them, but I think table service and only socially distanced seating completely ruins the feel of them.

It's a social venue.

Though I fully understand that it's just making the best of a bad situation to re-open in that style.
I agree . For me the joy was standing at the bar in a line of fellas ripping each other to bits . The drink element naturally was a factor but to be sat at a table now will feel like I’m on holiday sat with my girlfriend .

  1. Some pubs in town will limit entry numbers, as they should
  2. Some pubs in town won't limit entry numbers, then they will get overrun as word gets out
  3. For either of the above there will be too many people and not enough pub spaces
  4. People will kick off about not being able to get in anywhere
  5. People will buy booze from the supermarkets and shops and just drink outside instead
  6. People will be wrecked, as they've not had a drink with their mates in ages
  7. There will be nowhere to go/ open at 11pm/midnight as the clubs aren't allowed to open
  8. Some late bars will get swamped or have masses of people trying to get in
  9. There will be hell on outside these pubs/ bars
  10. If it's sunny, it will be 3 times worse

One thing I’ve noticed about you Wev, you love a numbered list. I bet you are a very organised fella

Just popped to our high street to get takeaway and the club and one of the bars are open. I assume serving "takeaway" only as folks are sitting at the tables outside.
Pubs have been open round here for weeks doing takeaway. Loads of people sitting on the banks of the Thames in Barnes. The British love a good pub. It'll be welcome distraction from the second wave!

Haha! :LOL::LOL:

to be fair, I have "to do lists" for my "to do lists", and write everything down/ into them, otherwise my company would collapse. My memory is either crap, or I've just got too much to think about/ do.

Haha love it. I just remember it from the Ayala thread and then this. Just thought wow this guy loves his lists!

How do you know if you haven't tried it?

Table service should never have been abandoned in the first place.

I love pubs, really missed going to the pub pre & post match a 1000 times more than going to see the Boro.

A lot of pubs around where I live have acres of external space so I'm hoping they get their act together.

Mind you, think I will swerve the 4th July rush...............should have pushed it back until Monday 6th July to let businesses ease their way in. As well as the clientele having to get used to the new system, the staff do as well.

I went with numbers as the next one down is mostly a consequence of the one above it, so they're in order, not like bullet points which can be any order.

If that's the case, then surely the numbers are redundant as we already know the order.;)

Sorry ... I just love bullet points me like.

I too have lists of lists and definitely do have a terrible memory.

You do now, you wouldn't have though

I'll use A,B,C next time, to see if it's just numberphobia you have.
