Well done Andy Preston

"In 2015, Preston was criticised for using his parents' Middlesbrough address on his nomination papers, rather than that of his actual home, but he denied breaking election rules"

Straight as a die :D
Is that the best you can do? Labour's main argument throughout the campaign was that he couldn't be mayor of Middlesbrough because he didn't live here. The Daily Mail had photos of his home. It was well known where he lived. You know damn well that wasn't an attempt to fool anyone, it would have been completely stupid to do so.

Then why did he do it, if not to mislead the voters?

Andy Preston is a decent guy. He loves the town and genuinely wants to improve it. How he tries to do that is a different matter but his intentions are genuine.
And he is a life-long Boro fan 👍

I'd guess to protect his family from further intrusion. Do you seriously think it was an attempt to mislead voters when his wealth and the residence were so well known? I don't think you do.

Has he ever said why?

If, as you say his home is common knowledge why use a different address?

I'm not sure he can be held to account for the trees being cut down near the art college. If its private land and they're not listed there is not a lot he can do. And its probably not the mayors job to monitor each tree.

Why does every little morsel of positivity have to go through a blender on this board and get turned upside down and inside out .

Can’t people just accept life is often not as we’d like or yearn ( never has been , never will be ) but embrace and muster a little smile out of any little bit of positive news . Politicians throughout time are notorious for self worth , it’s a human trait . Mo was one in a million but very rare .

Trust me life is much richer when you do .

It's spin, nothing more or less, and it should be called out, it's conning people.

Having read a few of your posts there's no way I'd trust your judgement.

Or why are people so gullible?

Because some people are not gullible.

Try and find that article in the Gazette or the Northern Echo.

He has paid someone to write a nice article about HIM.

That Tees Business thing is an advertising and publicity racket. When Preston was seeking election they had him as 'man of the year' etc. They do a lifestyle one as well, horrible publications. The same firm was also awarded a contract to do the Boro Council magazine shortly after Preston became Mayor. The details around that were kept quiet and the Council got in trouble for withholding information about the contract.

With regards to Preston being a Boro fan, is there actually any evidence of this - as in being a real fan?

Whatever one thinks of Preston, it doesn't like he can lead a local authority. He's no Ray Mallon 💪

Yeah Alf Kilner, in his Inspector Morse Jag, was a very different proposition as head to Harry The Leg who came in as Gillbrook head.
What year did that happen? I started Gillbrook in 1984 and Mr Hindle (peg Leg) was still Head then, his wife taught Commerce/Typing too.

Sarah's the Swearers, Stap the Crap, Gilly the Brilly.
