Not really sure that we should.
Looking at the website anyone can apply for this status, it's not really awarded, they just have to say they're planting X amount of tree a year. We are joined by luscious forest towns like Hull and Bradford, and have planted 2000 trees, that sounds like a lot but Bradford has done 20,000 as have some of the others.

This sounds like a tickbox award that you apply for and probably pay some kind of licensing fee, a bit like when call centres say they've won customer service team of the year award or a takeaway saying won curry house of the year award but don't mention that there's tons of categories and it's essentially paying for an award in the one that you want.

Seems like we are doing the bare minimum to get the status that they applied for, and suspect this was another puff piece competes by a PR team. No one has seen some work we are doing and given us an award off the back of it

Don't want to make anyone look silly. Just for them to look behind the headlines, especially with the dangerous populist 'independents' who have blagged their way into power in recent years.

Your post shouts out "defamation" to me. No evidence whatsoever, you just don't like him because he's not Labour and has more money than you. Why the hell would he do that when he already has all the money he will ever need? Is it beyond your comprehension that someone's motivation might simply be to make the town they come from a better place?

Is it that positive?

how much did we pay to be awarded the certification? Has this company even been to Middlesbrough? How many trees did we plant annually the last 10 years ba since joining the scheme etc?
