Well done Andy Preston

That Tees Business thing is an advertising and publicity racket. When Preston was seeking election they had him as 'man of the year' etc. They do a lifestyle one as well, horrible publications. The same firm was also awarded a contract to do the Boro Council magazine shortly after Preston became Mayor. The details around that were kept quiet and the Council got in trouble for withholding information about the contract.

With regards to Preston being a Boro fan, is there actually any evidence of this - as in being a real fan?

Whatever one thinks of Preston, it doesn't like he can lead a local authority. He's no Ray Mallon 💪
Yes, I have spoken with him at matches before he was mayor. Chatted to him as we were both looking for parking places away at Barnsley and that has to be about 5 years ago or slightly more. His kids were quite young at the time, if that helps date it.

I see Andy McDonald MP most home matches when I am selling Fly Me To The Moon. Previous mayor, Dave Budd I got to know 25 years ago or more at away games in London.

How long before he was mayor? Did you know him before he was involved in charities or was campaigning to become mayor?

No. I first met Andy through the charity work and when I was part of the Love Middlesbrough initiative. I think the away match meeting was before he first stood for mayor. But am not certain. But I don't think he was on the campaigning trail at Oakwell.

I think it might have been 2012. I seem to think it was early season. But we always seemed to play them early season at that time.

It's an advert for Preston written by one of his representatives, soaked up by those who believe the Daily Mail.

Tree City, laughable.
The council have planted clusters of trees throughout the borough as well as promoting wild meadows. Obviously this is only possible on council owned land. They are now going to make denser clusters of trees as I posted on here last week because of the benefits of flora fauna habitat etc that this gives.

He is 100% a fan, I'm not sure what evidence you expect other than anecdotal
For what its worth - and I know this is going to assumed to be bull - but he was genuinely one of the 3,690 at the Hartlepool 1986 game.
Well he cant be all bad been a Boro fan & at Pools in 86
