We look set to miss out on the play offs

Imagine you’ve just missed out on automatic promotion.. battled through the playoff semi finals.. you’re without your best player and you have to meet this fresh midfield five..

Jones—Payero—Crooks—McGree—Tav

Who plays up front? the new Alan Shearah? the next Ian Wright? the Irish Wayne Rooney?
Are you alright?

Why is there so much hate surrounding balogun and connelly.
I know they havent scored loads of goals but other than mitrovic who did you expect/want us to sign.

Please remember this is the first loan alogun has had and has only been limited to youth football/u23 which even at international level is not as demanding as the championship.

I also think or both Flo and connelly we do not play to there strengths they want balls in between the lines slide through not high bll which as a team we ha e reverted too.

I hope crooks being suspended will bring mcgree in and he can start to find yhe right balls for them.

Connelly works hard and in honesty has had no real clear cut chances and for me is trying to hard he would haave created more chances by finding a pass instead of shouting.

We have not been at our best in parts of the last 3 but should of had more points on the board than we have managed to gain but as we know the champo is relentless and am sure all fans from other clubs are frustrated but its about being calm our destiny is in our hands and we all know there will be further twists before the end of the season.

Either way it will be exciting lets enjoy and hopefully we will e in the mix, either way what wilder and his team are building is very exciting!
.i have nothing against those two players other than they were not the signings we needed. You can dress it up all you like but the fact remains they have both been massive disappointments. It's the clubs fault for getting them on loan compounded by Wilders blindspot, starting a player like Connolly out of form, and not physically or mentally fit for the championship.

Some people seem to believe it’s our right to smash the league every season. Given we haven’t got a pot to p1ss in and still look the more composed side againt a team with parachute money and a premier league squad yesterday, it’s odd timing to trot out the pessimism.

We may not make it this season but we are having a good ride.

Obviously out of form becasue he hasnt / isnt scoring but what fans forget is managers also see a different game and maybe what connelly does work rate, closing down etc is what wilder wants from him and ask of him.

To be fair to all the CF at the club whilst we missed a few against Fulham and peterbotough turned out better than it should, creating chances has really dried up of late and goals from all over the pitch, we win a lot of set pieces but our squad especially strikers are not players wbo thrive on headers.

For me the dip in our play and form has been because the midfield have tired of late and we have been unable to freshen it up with others and it is still yet to be seen how much of an impact both mcgree and payero will have on the squad.

I also think of late Wilder has made some strange decisions to fit some of his players in the team, which all managers do and that his stubborness to not use for ex an Uche at times.

We had Tav whos bee one of our best performers in CM playing RWB ecause jones was injured, surely with all the teams at the club setting up the same way we have a young RWB or alternatively Sol or peltier come in and Dijksteel would of went out on the right.

I also believe that whilst Uche hasnt scored a lot of goals he could of een used the same as Watmore as an impact sub for 15/20 minutes to cause teams problems and would of better suited the current long ball we are playing to any of our CF at present.

I still however believe CW os doing a gpod job and expect us to give it a good go to vet in the plagoffs and once in them anything can happen in the championship.

Tav at RWB and Peltier at RWB are two very different styles of play. Joe Gibson is the youth player behind Isaiah Jones.. but I’m guessing it’s a bit too early in his development to drop him in at the deep end.

Lots of movement in the January window out goes one Uche and in comes two very mobile young strikers. For the greater good one would hope!

Monday is a massive game Win that and it's absolutely game on. It does look as if a few of our players are a bit out of form but that can return. Hitting the back of the net is the big issue, not helped by a lack of creativity.
Whatever the outcome, it's been a helluva season, so let's get right behind the lads on Monday and see where we land.

Peltier or sol would of played as one of the 3 with Dijksteel as RWB

I just think all our strikers are to similar and do not offer a different style in attacking play when needed hence why and Uche type focal point could really help the other strikers and also wilders decision to only play 3 5 2 relying on WB over attack minded wingers in a 433 or 442 at times... theres nothing wong with playing a diffetent style when required but wilder is consistent in only playing the same way with like for like substitutions

What’s the latest with Sammy Ameobi?
I got flogged for suggesting a while back, that the club would do well to offer Sammy and Darnell the remainder of their contracts.
Sammy is 30 in 15 days time and Darnell was 28 just 12 days ago.
Both players must have thought about alternatives to playing football (?) - they`ve had time to reflect.
I couldnt suggest that Chris Wilder would want to see his medical team nursing back to fitness - two players who have been out for a full season.
Does he want another Managers players [he`s got enough already] - or does he want to focus on building a strong healthy competitive team?
Like he said in his press conference before Bournemouth:
Things happen in life. We have to deal with it and come out the other end. Its a test of character.

Seems mad just to pay players off who are injured! I thought Darnell was due back April/May time. Ameobi was a flare up of a previous problem.. shame there’s been no sign of him.

???
In what way, dijksteel pretty much plays that position alongside jones and Tav would of remained in CM where he is at his best and drives us up the pitch
Tav offers more going forward, Dijksteel has been superb in that back three. For a team struggling to score.. the Tav option was preferred

Mobile supporting strikers over target men. It’s what Wilder wanted and what helped pay for the two strikers.

There all the same we needed different options to watmore, coburn, sporar and we signed the same type of player and IMO are weaker options at present with or without form
