We haven’t heard much from Kieran Scott recently

Maybe they've already decided Carrick will be going at the end of the season and Scott is busy working on his replacement? In which case, it'd be pretty hard for him to do an honest interview. Even if Carrick is just "under review" it might be difficult or even inappropriate for him to talk to the media right now.

I'd be interested in hearing from him, but there might be good reason for the radio silence. I'm sure we will in the summer.
This is my take on things.

The players are still behind him, reportedly at least, and yet there seems to be an inability to get them playing to anywhere near the levels we know they're capable of.

After two wins I expected a more confident display yesterday, but what we saw was the opposite.

The comments recently pointing to his "integrity" was a reason to stay with him I found a little odd too.

All told I think he's agreed to see it through until the summer, when a change will be made. The players knowing this would explain an awful lot.

From Carrick's perspective I suppose he hopes he can put a run together that persuades the club to give him longer.

All conjecture of course, but we look like a team marking time at the moment and something is causing it, more than Carricks coaching ability.

The silence goes on.

I don't think there's much point in him commenting on business until the end of the season now.

It's looking like a really badly handled transfer window, but I don't think it'll help for the club to pubicly dissect it whilst there's still a chance of salvaging things.

The justifications and excuses are going to be entirely different depending on how this season ends, with total failure or if we make the play-offs or somehow steal promotion.

Fair points tbh.

Don't see the issue tbh, seemed novelty enough he was giving in-depth interviews in the first place, don't think I ever hear any other clubs directors of football doing the same all that often, so having a go for him not living up to his own standard that was unusual in the first place seems daft to me. It's basically just regression to the norm, which is fine really, what's he gonna say?

I think people give Scott too much grace and not enough to Carrick.

Rogers and Lath money has improved Gibsons bank balance but not the teams quality of player available. It is no surprise to me Laths sale and Iheanacho's loan have weakened us. The purchase of Whittaker looks rank at present.... just sayin....

Who’s having a go at him?

Are you across each and every club on an in-depth basis, enough to know how often their staff are engaging with their respective fan bases?

My general point is that I like the context him speaking to the media, and in turn the fans, can often provide. It’s not about blame, culpability, whatever. It’s just an interest in hearing what the person with overall responsibility for the football side of the club has to say. He’s spoken after each of the past several windows.

Excuse me for wondering, though. Or daring to ask the question.

Plenty of people?
He’s a clown. Only comes out when he wants a bit of praise but not seen when the chips are down.
Is this not having a go at him?
As has been said he was giving interviews left right and centre when he wanted to lap up the praise during our good spells particularly in Carrick’s first season.

Doesn’t seem interested in answering the tougher questions.
Or this? Not sure why you seem to think it was aimed at you specifically.

Far too many people are far too fickle. Too reactive. And don't (let's be honest here) have a clue what is going on behind the scenes.
Scott was a God a few months ago on this board, and now people are talking of him deliberately sabotaging the club to oust the manager..!?
It's embarrassing tbh.

I think people are too reactive, but reactive like one of them oil tankers that take about a fortnight to turn left. I swear most people’s incessant moaning and doom mongering is down to what happened a month ago, not the actual last 5 games when we’ve generally done ok, results wise at least. People get into moan mode, and it takes them a lonnnnnng time to stop.

On the contrary. Most fans are desperate for us to do well and will jump on board as quickly as the team show them a bit.
It takes a long period of frustration to cause the effect you describe.
It's why the sweet harmony of club/staff/fans all being on the same page is so magical. It buys a lot of time when things aren't so harmonious.
Eventually frustration turns to apathy and sadly that's where a lot of our fanbase is finding itself.

No matter how much posters like you dress things up, things have been dull to disappointing since that play off defeat at home to Coventry.
The next 8-11 matches could radically transform things, but many simply don't believe it will, based on some pretty compelling evidence.

You point to the last 5 matches and 10 points, which include horror shows at Swansea and Luton,
but omit that we got 0 points from the previous 5, 8 points from the previous 5, 6 points from the previous 5.
We have 10 points in the last 5, 10 points from the last 10, 18 points from the last 15, 24 points from the last 20.
If there is moaning it is not without cause, as we are as close to 3rd bottom as we are to 4th top in terms of points.

you do realise you’re just completely proving my point? You’ve responded to “people are still reacting to what happened a month ago”
with “yes but what about what happened a month ago!” 🤦‍♂️

There is inertia. There is an initial honeymoon period but once results go south that drains away quite quickly. Once it's gone, takes an awful lot to get it back.

We could win 6 from the next 8 and qualify for the play-offs and yes, there would be excitement and hope but there wouldn't be a lot of *confidence* in Carrick. The second things start to go wrong again, which in football always happens, people will turn back against him. Even if we got promoted, there would be a fair percentage of the fanbase who would put it down to more luck than judgement.

At this point, I reckon the fanbase is something like 10% pro-Carrick, 50% on the fence but tending to anti and 40% anti no matter what happens next. There is no realistic way for Carrick turn that around at this point without promotion or at least getting to Wembley only to lose to a bad ref decision or bad luck despite deserving to win, that kind of thing.
