Watching the Boro on smart TV

That's what I do, and have done for the past 3 seasons, and it's usually pretty reliable.
Once you lug the HDMI in on does it just automatically show on your telly? Or do you need to do something else? Tried plugging HDMI and it just freaks my MacBook out and the TV doesn't do anything

When you slide the menu from the top you get loads of options.

Choose "smart view" and connect to you TV.
Not on my phone mate... The only similar option i have when i slide the screen down is Screen Cast which i tried on Saturday but it was too slow/bad quality

Yeah it just works, you sometimes have to select the input volume from the menu on the Mac but never had any issues.

Is it something to do with your screen mirroring settings ?

I'm not trying to offend, just wanted to rule out the basic first step of have you made sure you've selected the correct input on the TV, hdmi3 for example?

I'm sure you have but just checking.

I've found laptop to tv via HDMI very good, but because I mistakenly thought I could use another device, it's the only option I've tried - but tonight Matthew...

I've got a TCL Smart tv with built in Roku and I've also got an Nvidia Shield connected to another TV. I've tried all combinations/permutations of getting Riverside Live to work directly but the only way I've been able to get a watchable version is to connect my Surface Pro to a TV via a HDMI connection.

My MacBook does have an HDMI port but when i connect it to my TV it just freaks out and switches between multiple windows on my computer but nothing happens on the TV.
Later MacBooks that doesn’t or shouldn’t happen although as I say I need the adapter as don’t have an HDMI port.

Just discovered another alternative - if your TV has Android TV built-in, you should be able to install the MFC app on it and watch MFC video content from there.

If it doesn't show up in the Google Play Store, you can side load it by installing an app like Aptoide or Apkpure first. As it's not designed for Android TV you'll need to use a mouse to control it, though.*

At least, it works for the the recorded videos on there, like the highlights, interviews etc - I can't say for sure if it would work for streaming live games as I haven't tried it.

Having just found this myself and started using it yesterday, I'm finding it much more convenient than connecting my laptop via cable, so I'll be using this method from now on.

*Edit - just noticed the OP said he can't use a mouse with his TV, so I guess this wouldn't work for him.

Thanks for that. Another mouse may work but to be honest I'm quite happy with plugging the laptop in for now. Thanks very much though and will keep it in mind for the future

Look for the Puffin Browser App on your Nvidia Shield and access the Boro website / Riverside live through that - that's what I use and it's spot on. Puffin costs about £9 a year after a free month I think

Thats what I do. Always a great picture. Use a powerline adaptor to wire t’internet into mac so it flows perfectly
Yep i do it on my HP Elitebook, an have to use the D+ / HDMI converter, but the picture is always great. I was kind of guessing that it would work on the MacBook, but glad it works.
