Warnock on TalkSport just now

To say you have lost respect for him as a man though, come off it. He seems a nice enough bloke to me.
I did, if you don’t already know the struggles this area is facing as a direct result of this government then go and look for yourself. I would guess you will feel the same as me if you did.

I am aware. I’m also able to judge a man on more than one Ill informed comment. He’s a decent enough bloke. Some people just can’t wait to argue about politics on this forum. Live for it

I was actually more annoyed with his sarcastic comment that he couldn't understand why Muniz didn't choose us. To me that showed he actually has a lowly opinion of us. I preferred his comment when Moore signed for Cardiff: "his loss".
Yes it’s a kind of self deprecation which I wish he wouldn’t employ.

I’m hardly arguing about it, just put down my views on his comments that have already been mentioned many times on this thread already

im not disputing the fact he’s a decent bloke, personally I just struggle to respect him after those comments. Not sure why they even needed to be brought up in a press conference anyway

What a thouroughly demoralising thread, just a few days before the start of the season.

The other day I was thinking to myself how the supporters of MFC had taken to Neil Warnock. Not since Bryan Robson has any manager enjoyed so much respect.

I didn't realise that there was this festering dislike by sections of our support.

not training as leaving - stojanovic, Coulson

Injured - Fisher, Bola, Ameobi, Tav, Browne

Probably one more injured that we haven't heard about. Ameobi was injured a coulpe of days into pre, Browne and Fisher injured since before pre, Bola and Tav injured during.

So it's quite probable were down to 14 or so pros, and some kids filling in
I haven’t included Bamba and Paterson so that would make 22. A third of his squad is injured a few days before the season starts? Has this ever happened to Boro before?

But it’s just Warnock doing what he and a lot of managers do and moaning in the press to either deflect away from themselves or encourage their clubs to sign more players. He’s setting it up in case we lose at Fulham/have a slow start. How on earth can little old Middlesbrough be expected to compete with the exorbitant wealth/huge squads that other clubs have to spend/select from?

Why would his (or anyone else’s) politics have anything to do with MFC? Do we now vet managerial staff and players to make sure they are left leaning?
You know what, I have no idea how Robson, McClaren, Southgate, Karanka or any of our previous managers voted. That's the issue here

Probably not but the kind of injuries sustained by Ameobi, Fisher and Browne are just bad luck. You will usually get one or two muscle injuries in pre-season and Tav seems a little susceptible to them

There we have the truth of it. Typically bitter and twisted leftie politicising totally unrelated subjects. It's tiresome and makes genuine discussion on a subject become futile and boring. Are you Anthony Vickers?
becausee those right wingers are reknown for not being bitter twisted people?! 🤷‍♂️ :ROFLMAO:

He shouldn't have used an MFC press conf to voice his politics but outside of that, he has every right to say what he wants
well, no he doesn't have every right to say what he wants. I don't have the right to use my job to project political views as part of my official role. He abused his role. I think it was stupidity more than political malice, he ain't the brightest guy, but he should have a little bit more between his ears than to know that kind of comment was out of place and divisive....especially in the climate we find ourselves in for the last 5 years.

Think thats the point most are making, he can hold whatever opinions he wants but to push these in a press conference about MFC is wrong especially when you consider whats going on in the area.
Imagine most of us would be in trouble if we used our jobs to push a political opinion

He's not the only one BM:

So, by the same token, do you all hate Gibson then because he votes Tory or is this just a convenient stick to beat Warnock with coz you just don't like him?

No, which to me validates my other points of why I dislike (hate is a strong word I perhaps shouldn't have used) Warnock.

It's not that he's a tory (my own father is for crying out loud), not even that he uses his press conferences to promote them - that's just a part of it.

I've given other reasons why I dislike him, yet they were dismissed by a poster further up as the ravings of a "leftie". The fact that I still have a degree of respect for Gibson may suggest I don't exclusively hate tory's.
