Warnock on Britt .. Brutal Honesty ..

People saying it’s not brits fault he cost so much and while that is true it’s also true that when a club pay that much for a player they expect that player to work hard to improve their game and fix their flaws.

with brit that just hasn’t happened he’s as streaky today as he was when we signed him, his one on one technique is just as poor as it always was and this is my by issue with him.

because as Neil says he is a poor footballer at heart without the goals he doesn’t really add anything to the side ( unlike say an Akpom who can bring others into the play) , hence why Neil has opted to leave him out when the goals have dried up.

For me , the infuriating thing with Britt, is the lack of awareness of those around him, I know he is a striker and there to score goals but he denies a lot of goal scoring opportunities by trying to take the more difficult option himself instead of playing in the person with the much easier chance, always been a massive flaw in his contribution to the team.

He never passes he just shoots all the time regardless of the chance to score or not, this my issue about improving or adapting him game.

I honestly don't understand why some posters can't make enough excuses for Assombolonga's ineptitude.
He has one good match in ten and that is just not good enough.
I praised him after the Forest win because he played well and scored. I will do so every time he does too as I have no agenda with him. I would still love him to prove me - and thousands of others - wrong.

I'd rather sign a player that has some potential, some desire to improve and spend Assombolonga's wage (even a significantly reduced one) on him.
He is simply not going to change after 4 years of at best mediocrity.

Perhaps needing a new contract from us or elsewhere will focus Assomba's mind for the last few months of this season. If he could score 10 odd goals between now and May it could make all the difference for us and for him.

Strictly on that last bit he seems to be rotating them more or less 2 on/2 off

Just looking at Dwight Gayles stats , he’s 31 now which surprised me a bit but his record only really has him down as a good championship striker . The only reason you’d want to sign him longer than the end of the season would be as back up to help you get promoted if you went down again .

He's one of the best two strikers at the club I'm afraid. Up front with Watmore backed up by Tav, how often have they played together?

I'm not convinced by Akpom at all and Fletcher has improved tremendously while he's been out injured.

I think , as it's been said before, it's creating an expectation. When you've paid top whack at a restaurant etc you don't just want microwaved food.
You're paying for something and there's an expectation that the player will deliver- isn't that what the agents were trying to sell to the club's?
But this analogy doesn’t work. Us as fans never really paid for the meal. You could argue that we all contribute to his wages in a small way but in truth, not really.

Okay, then following this logic , why watch at all? We've no real stake in the club . Maybe Gibson watching alone in the Covid-19 world is the new truth?

You can be there invested in the team and have an emotional stake in the club but I just think fans get too hung up on fees and wages. If Gibson was happy to pay them, does that really matter that much?
