Warnock - is there a risk....

I think we'll finish strongly and finish 8th/9th. At the start of the season I said worse case scenario was 10th, I still think that's the case.

He'll have taken a team from 20th to 8th/9th. Sure, we flirted with play-offs but it was never my expectation and still isn't.

Next season he'll take us from 8th/9th to top 6. We have a couple of high earners who aren't delivering to move on and a bit of cash to bring in 5-6 new lads, this will help him achieve this task.

No doubt in my mind. He knows what he's doing. He won't get every single decision right but he will overall get us where we need to be. Top 2 is too big an ask, we simply don't have the funds. I think next season is his last season no matter what happens.

I like Warnock , but have concerns that he is leaving , so any players he tries to lure in this summer , will have it in their minds that they are getting a new man at the end of the next season.
If we have a chance of a manager who will move us forward , get him in this summer , so he is bringing his own players in , not getting Warnocks choices.
There are plenty of managers out of work , and some good working managers. only Steve will know who he wants, but maybe Neil can help pick the new man now , why wait . 10 players to come in , we have to get it right , and the 10 players need to feel they are part of a long term vision, not a one season wonder .
JFH , Critchley , Lampard , Villas Boas , Wilder , Wagner , Howe , Poyet , klinsman , Vierra , Di Matteo , Benitez , Karanka , who knows who he would chose .
Me , Any of the 1st 3 on that list .
Over to you Steve .

I wouldn't be up for breaching contract with Warnock (and paying him off). Jimmy will likely be gettable next summer still.

I see no case for Lampard personally, and certainly not going back for Karanka. Chris Wilder is obviously someone a lot of Championship clubs would happily take, as is Howe. Both probably think a bigger job will come along though.

My point is if a managerial candidate came up I wouldn’t put off going for him to give warnock another year

does anyone think we may see a transition to Blackwell jepson anyway.
Easy choice for Gibson to make, we know he doesn't like approaching other clubs managers, so Blackwell would be the easy option.

There's no point in putting in place any long term planning in football. Fans call for a managers head anytime they lose a couple of matches in a row. We were top of the league under Karanka and we still had a large section of support whining.

Love the Boro but hate Warnock, thought he was a dinosaur before he came and nothing has changed. Get him and all his crappy loan players out of the door. We need a young man in place and a project. Sticking with him and we will go backwards.

I'm concerned NW doesn't seem to know the name of any of the u23s and only now they're getting a chance to train with the first team.

JFH is not under contract , so can come in this summer , maybe along side Warnock , but could have a say on signings .
A legacy would be to do the right thing for the club , if Warnock thinks he can help build the future by supporting the new man ( whoever that may be )to take over the reigns that would be his legacy .

Everyone around the club is talking about us really going for it next season BUT Warnock is not Garry Monk he wants to leave a legacy and not a bankrupted club. Premier League would be a great legacy and a club with a great mixture of youth and experience for the future.
A legacy would be putting the clubs long term future as his priority and helping build the foundations for the future .

It is a concern. I have warmed to NW over the season but his "brand" of football remains a concern. Is it really the basis for a sustainable positive future for this club? I hope it is.
