True but you can’t blame them really. They don’t really know how good/bad out finances are til they ask.

Its probably now, £4m up front, £1m after 100 premiership appearances and the other £10m if he scores a hat trick in the champions league final. That said, I am pretty sure gibbo will get the deal he feels we need. It seems to be coming to a head now.

I'd keep him until the summer. We'd not only be weakening the team now, we'd be weakening it for next season as well. Anyone who comes in as a replacement will need time to bed in and that time could well extend to the start of next season depending on the player.
Rogers is still improving and there is more chance of him doing so by playing regularly against "inferior" opposition than by getting the odd sub run out in the PL. Villa would be back in the summer and if not then I'm sure an improved Rogers would be a target for others. PL clubs want him now so they can get him on the cheap, a supposed £15m for a lad with so little relative experience shows you that.
 
My golfing mate is a Villa fan and can't understand why they want him.
Reckons he will go straight out on loan as they have just done with a young Italian player.
 
Think we should just shut down negotiations on him this window tbh, doesn't serve us at all to lose him now. Could also see it just p*ssing Gibson off the way Villa seem to have carried out this business publicly through the media at every step of the way. The constant immediate reports of their bids, every report coming laced with "Rogers keen on the move" "Rogers desperate for the move" "Rogers wants the move" additions every time. F*ck off.
