I find relegation worse, we have failed to achieve promotion this season i.e. failed a positive. A bit like getting a grade B and you wanted a grade A.
I tend to fully get over after the Play off Final and the 2022/23 season is fully put to bed.
The bookies pre/season had us the finish 6th and we finished 4th so we out performed on that prediction.
The second half of the season was better than the first half which is promising for next season (if we can have the same or better quality squad).
The attacking play and goals from this season will not be forgotten quickly. I can't remember a season like it, when we had the attacking players fit we were almost unstoppable going forward, unfortunately the injuries to Ramsay, Forss, Howson, disrupted the attacking flow at the end.
For next season we have the base of a very good team. I would expect some of the better loan players to return as they all seemed to enjoy their time at the Boro and enjoy being managed by Michael Carrick. (as mentioned by B in D)
I expect season ticket sales to be around 22k so expect crowds higher than last season on average. I think early bird sales were up 15%.
The emergence of Hayden Hackney is a real unexpected boost and Josh Coburn will return a better player from his season loan.
The presence of what has happened this season will help attract new recruits. (as mentioned by B in D).
