Well, a bad day losing Onley... especially as I named my team after him. Poor lad. Good day points wise though with 4 in the top ten, and putting me in the top 100 overall.

I might be leading, but I'm down 2 now so won't be leading at the end. Goossens is a big loss for me.
Great pick with with Martinez as well as Groves. Might be tough to beat.

Would have been interesting had Kuss gone into red. How would JV have played that. Would they have let him defend it or would he have still ridden for Roglic? Roglic looks to be their no1 rider

There will be some interesting discussion in the TJV camp for sure. That's a serious margin. Obviously Kuss and Martinez will lose time in the ITT, but there is a heck of a lot of climbing to come.
Kuss is in his third grand tour of the year... will he last 3 weeks? His usual MO is to have easy days so that he can be there as a super domestique when called upon. I just hope Evenepoel hasn't got covid again. It is rife at the moment. I've had it this month and I know several others that have too. And Martinez is only 20. Can he do 3 weeks at this level? I think I heard Kirby say that he was the youngest grand tour leader since about 1908 or something.

If I was a betting man I'd back Roglic to win it from here. Even if Martinez was strong enough to last the 3 weeks, he doesn't have the team around him to support him.

Evenepoel did well to limit his losses, he was actually pulling back time in the last 2km and the pace was still high because they dropped Mas during that time. Hopefully that's a telltale that there's not a major issue. I think he maybe just hit a flat spot on that steepest gradient when Roglic made his move.

Well it's interesting for sure. I almost sacked cycling off this summer after the ludicrous Vingo time trial. And i'm still only just clinging on to my love of the sport now. Sky seem to have gotten away with their period of dominance (even if the team doctor is now banned from the sport ... figure that out). But whenever one team cracks the code like TJV have at the moment, it stinks.... especially as they have plenty of form for doping under previous monikers.

I can’t get that TT out of my mind either and Vinnegaard to me was coasting yesterday as well.

It's a **** take really. I really hope they mess this up. Imagine what it would have been like if WVA was in the vuelta squad. No-one else would get much of a look in.
Interesting that Hessman has returned a positive test but is backed by the team.

New name stage winner today. Geoffrey Soupe. A broth of fresh air.

Arensman crashed and is out. GT had a bad crash too. Ineos disaster today.
