LJV look so strong. Its going to take something special to beat them. Good move from Bernal to sneak 4 bonus seconds yesterday and give him a slight virtual lead over the other msin contenders. Will the plan be to just mark Roglic from here on in?
I thought valverde looked strong yesterday. Just let himself get too far back to challenge for the win but he finished like a train. Would love to see him have a crack in the mountains if he still has the fitness

Its a tough stage today and my guess is with Froome and Castrojevo easing off yesterday they are going to be there to pull the peloton strong over the mountains today. LJV look very impressive and I am sure Ineos would want to make a statement in response.
 
Impressive to see Ineos as a team battered.
Bernal still a danger and very interesting to see how he plays it.

As It’s a 5 stage race it’s going to be very interesting to see what tactics they employ - conserving energy probably isn’t as much an option. May prevent a breakaway win today.

I suspect Brailsford will be saying its the TDF that is important not this .....
And, of course, he has a point.
 
Ineos might have to rethink the tactics in the mountains as Riglic looks like he can stay with the wattage based train no problem. Maybe we'll see a return to lunatic attacks going from the base of climbs?
 
Yes of course. But there was no doubt on stage 2 his squad were trying to make a statement and they have two weeks to go back to camp to lick their wounds and come back fresh. Will Froome feature? I think he has to with the Giro overlapping. Carapaz and Dennis we know will be riding that so who will they draft into the Tour for the 8th spot? Probably Stannard.
 
Bernal didn’t start today’s stage because of a back problem. May account for his loss of form.

A crash on the first descent of today’s stage and both Krijswijk and Manny Buchmann have abandoned. The former is an important domestique for Roglic. Buchmann was in the top ten.
 
b***r, I was going to have Kamna in my team but, as he is in my CQ team, I thought I'd pick someone else. Great ride though. I hope he has another pop tomorrow.
 
CQ? Kamna wont be allowed to make the break tomorrow. Hes now within 2 mins of the lead and infact when Roglic went down he was the virtual leader for a fewminutes today.

Roglic looked in control at the end but will
be interesting if he feels the injuries overnight.

Just seen another horrific crash in the Lombardia involving Renco Evenapoel.
