Ben White makes a wonderful tackle which the ref thinks is a foul worthy of a yellow.
VAR does a check to see if it should be red and sees that it is clearly a good tackle and not a foul.
Liverpool put the ball in the net from the free-kick (ruled out for offside, but not the point).
Ben White is now on a yellow for the final ten minutes with Brighton chasing the game.
Why, if they're doing a check anyway, can't the VAR official say to the ref that he got the foul wrong and restart with a drop-ball to BHA?
Utterly ridiculous.
And now the pundits are kicking off about a perfectly clear and obvious mistake from the ref (he didn't see Welbeck getting booted).
