Vaccine passports or lateral test for Wembley games

I’ve never heard such rubbish in all my days. Are the unvaccinated to be excluded from everyday life for ever then ? Every single person who has had a vaccine has a chance, even though it’s reduced, of catching and passing on the virus but they get preferential treatment over the unvaccinated 🤔 as i said earlier this is medical apartheid and non of us, vaccinated or not should be tolerating this kind of draconian nonsense

You've never heard so much rubbish as actually scientifically backed medical reports into the spread of the virus? I think we are getting close to understanding your own problems here!

Imagine 100 people who are at high risk of hospitalization. Let's say their risk, if they get covid, of requiring a hospital stay is 80%.

Let's say that 95% of them choose to be vaccinated and the vaccine is 90% effective in preventing hospitalization.

Those 100 people are all exposed to covid. 80% of the five unvaccinated people need to go to hospital. That's 4 people.

Of those that had the vaccines the number that will have to go to hospital is 95 x .08 which is 7 or 8.

So there are more vaccinated people in hospital than unvaccinated.

If no one was vaccinated then 80 people would be in hospital.

Which is better 80 in hospital or 12?

All the probabilities are made up but aren't entirely unreasonable.
I fear your logic, common sense and factual approach may be lost on Funky. He's a bit more, casual, with the actual truth

I tell myself that I'm doing it in case anyone else reading the thread thinks that his arguments have any merit. In reality I know I just can't stop myself responding even though I know it's futile. https://xkcd.com/386/
I know I think that’s the thing. You’re not going to stop the people like Funky and Randy spreading their crazy conspiracy theories. We’ve all seen how they ignore any known fact to just bang whatever drum they have. I’m like you though, I feel I have to respond in case anyone else sees and is taken in by it

This is a very positive step forward.

Covid is not going to go away and we need to get on with our lives.

Simple to download app or a quick lateral flow test.

Nobody is excluded.

Of course neither is an absolute guarantee that you will not be infectious, we will probably never have that level of assurance, but it will significantly reduce the chances of infected/contagious individuals joining large gatherings.

I’m still hoping I can attend a large sporting event in July, with others to follow.

This is the only way I can see these events going ahead.

And so why not start with Funky_Chicken excluded from this website for a few days.
Really? Because you don't agree with his opinion.

I wouldn't mind so much, but this crap government don't make a single decision that is predicated on the electorate's welfare, only in remaining in power.

Passports to watch our national game and open our borders to countries with variants not in the UK in the hope of getting a crappy trade deal. Some might be forgiven for thinking that covid passports for football had nothing to do with reducing risk at all.

It isn't his opinion he tells us it is government and official stats - that he is bending into his opinion.
