Vaccine passports at MFC

In France I believe the info is sent directly to a central database which instantly tells the person doing the scan if you've had your two vaccinations (soon to be three). A big green tick appears on their mobile and that's it, literally takes a second.
sounds a great technology led solution, the only issue is finding a front bencher who has a friend that can create this application for us

I wasn't meaning that it would be free, but that you could pay a tenner to watch online. I bought an online season ticket at the start of the season and it works pretty well apart from when the matches are not available because they are on Sky (or shown on telly in some other country for some reason) that might go some way towards paying for the extra stewarding as the matches are already broadcast and it would help those who are shielding or otherwise vulnerable.
Would more than likely stop fans attending in person which would hurt club finances. A tenner to watch in a nice warm house or thirty quid to freeze your **** off in the Riverside in the middle of winter. More would choose the stream option for sure.

Wouldn't be an issue at all for me if I didn't have to long in to the app each time and click through about 4 pages to get to the pass.

I presume there's a quicker way, I might look in to installing Google Pay if that's instant.
Or just use the 'download to pdf' option.
No need the log in at the turnstile then.

The scanner at the turnstile won't be able to validate the passport.
you said it was a tech issue, it isn't, you can show your vaccine passport to someone with a camera phone who could validate it with an app. The issue is the cost of having enough staff to validate before the turnstiles.

If Cardiff managed it why can't we. There'll be plenty of people willing to help for a free seat at the game, it's not as if there aren't any going spare.

..... and the 'backend' of said app will be an out of date Excel spreadsheet managed by an intern .....

Just tried now and it's taken seconds. Although I had my NHS app already set up. Just saved automatically into my Google pay account and valid until the 8th of Jan (gets boxing day and Blackpool in).

That said im not sure how 'easy' it is if you don't have a smart phone or maybe not a little 'tech savvy'. I remember setting up my NHS app last month and it was a bit of a pain. The sheer amount of details and security links/pins required. Also being ex armed forces I had no idea about NHS numbers etc... I'd not used them for 23 years😂

II'm going with my dad on boxing day. He's 81 and doesn't have the Internet never mind a smart phone. So going to have to sort him out in the next couple of weeks. I'm guessing he can get a paper one?

I printed off a hard copy for my dad a while back when he needed it for a couple of gigs at The Globe. He sent me his pdf and I printed it off for him (along with 'hard copies' of his electronic gig tickets).

S7 - You may have to get your Dad's details from him to generate the pdf though, as I can't remember how me and my Dad sorted that bit out.

I believe you can get a paper one from the NHS. Or you could set an account up for him on the app and get one that way.

What an absolute waste of time this is.

All of us who are vaccinated can get the pass, then spend time at the ground having it checked.

Any anti-vaxxers who want to go to the match can just order some LFTs, get the barcode and report a negative without even doing a test.

Can anyone tell me what benefit this brings?

You can go on the NHS website and apply for a paper copy of the vaccine pass to be sent to home.

Thanks...

I imagine it's going to be a bit of a ballache as he probably won't know any of his details (NHS number / National insurance number etc)😂

I'm on it... I've got until boxing day.

Gigs I have been to where venue was asking for proof of COVID-19 vaccination nothing more than a cursory glance. Imagine that will be the case for football. It's an encouragement to get vaccinated, which is now the only way.

All you need is his date of birth and address at the NHS site, they'll then email the confirmation which you can print off
