Unusual Cover Versions

How about Beethoven's take on Auld Lang Syne? A little known fact - Beethoven set about 150 British poems to music including by Robert Burns, Walter Scott and Lord Byron. This is perhaps the most unlikely.

Can't see any mention of Jimi Hendrix's version of Bob Dylan's All Along the Watchtower.

And for the early '60's protest movement Springsteen did a whole album of songs made famous by Pete Seeger. Seeger didn't write any of them, but neither did Springsteen, apparently the first (only?) Springsteen album not to contain any of his own material.

And for connoisseurs of the odd - another Beethoven factoid. He did a cover version of this ...

Not only that he did a piece - 7 variations on that tune, and he includes it at the start of the so-called "Battle Symphony" (Wellington's Victory). Bit of an Angolphile was our Ludwig.
