Unusual Cover Versions

Hopefully no one has beaten me to this - I'd missed this entire thread and am still trying to catch up.

Definitely file this under unusual. The Gutter Brothers cover of Kiss. Stick with it - it's weirdly rewarding...

Not much of a fan of Heavy Metal but I was listening to Desert Island disks the other day and it was some American Physicist called Brian Somebody (no not Cox, another one, an American) anyhoo some pretty dull choices and then he picked this cover of Simon and Garfunkel's "Sound of Silence" by the Heavy Metal band "Disturbed" and it is sensationally good. A proper "cover" that finds something new in the song and takes it to another level not better than the original but complimentary in that it shows the depth of the meaning in the song.

Apologies to those who have already heard this it did come out some five or so years ago. But why did you not tell me. Fantastic.

Those of a nervous disposition, look away. This is from some strange and terrible parallel universe.
