Spot on, it is unacceptable in a stadium which is full of families having an afternoon out.It's already been raised by other concerned posters, who are rightly sickened by the scum element in today's away-end, who could be heard [even on TV] shouting and singing, calling Boro fans [including children] Paedophiles and [You] “shag your children”.
If Middlesbrough is serious about stopping discrimination and hate crimes, then something should be done now and at least a formal apology demanded from SAFC regards this disgusting behaviour.
If they were calling people “black *****s” or gay people "********s”, or any other vile crap spouted by a few “fans”, there would quite rightly be attempts made to find and ban the perpetrators.
The thread below already started and commented by other posters highlights how the Sunderland Scum are even bragging about it online!
Will MFC formerly raise this issue with SAFC and demand an apology?

As usual many of their moron supporters showed themselves up with their usual sick chanting. I found it pretty depressing walking through the east stand car park after the game and noticing a lad who must have been no older than 10 shouting "paedo" at us. Maybe we should have a questionnaire before teams buy tickets.. “are you going to sing offensive songs?” - then if they answer ‘yes’ we should NOT sell them tickets.
How about red paddles that say ‘IT’S NOT ON’ that we can hold aloft in response to away teams singing offensive songs?
We could even provide teams with song sheets with lyrics for nice songs about us!
T-SHIRTS! we should all wear t-shirts that say NOT A NONCE - that’ll teach em!
How about we get all our players to spend a week making videos to send to Sunderland fans explaining why their chants are so offensive and hurtful.. they might not even know!

As mentioned, anyone who has read the thread knows you don’t agree with any action. That is very clear.
Why not just leave the thread now so people that are offended by the chants can have their say? You don’t have to pop up every other post with tbe same counter argument.
Is it that different? Is it up to us to determine what is deemed not traumatic to opposition fans?No, two totally different things. There will be abuse victims in the crowd, home and away end. I doubt there was any mackems still traumatised from the time they were set alight by a Teessider. Having said that, knowing what Ayresome Park was like, I couldn't be sure.

There's a big difference between a bit of general ribbing between supporters and chanting "you shag your children"
Especially when it's directly at children or people with their children. It's sick. It's inappropriate. It wouldn't be acceptable anywhere else.
I really don't think the "build a bonfire" song is anywhere near the same level of offensiveness and don't really understand why people are using that as an example of where Boro have overstepped the mark. Maybe a bit unsavoury but clearly not the same level of offensiveness or inappropriateness of shouting paedo at men with their children.
Would I want to pummel someone who was chanting the "build a bonfire" song at me. (Rephrased to smoggies). Absolutely not. Just laugh it off. Would it put me off taking my children to the match? Nope. Would I be upset my child was exposed to that sort of chant? nope.
Would I be tempted to leather someone screaming paedo at me while I walk with my two kids to the match? Yes, I absolutely would want to rip their head off and the only thing stopping me would be the fact I wouldn't expose my children to that. Would it put me off taking my children to the match? Absolutely. Sunday was the first home match I didn't take my son to since October. Would I be upset my child was exposed to that sort of chant? 100% yes. How do you explain it to a child who understands the term

Tough to leave the thread if folks are asking me stuff. General ribbing..
‘Build a bonfire’ - first of all, offensive to anyone who has been hurt or had someone they love killed in a fire. I’m assuming that most kids going to the games hearing this can understanding that in fact a bonfire will not be built and fans will not be burned to death. Please feel free to apply this logic to any other chant btw
‘Adam Johnson is one of your own’ - a sex offender.. the song implies that Sunderland fans are sex offenders in retaliation to implication of the very same from them. It’s the same thing.. the exact same thing.
Tasteless, inappropriate, offensive.. but also in the abstract.. making it not as offensive.
I think this has been elevated to such a level because folks WANT to be offended.. then they can be seen to act and get a good old pat on the back from their internet friends.
We see this sort of thing EVERYWHERE on social media.. the outrage, the pile on, the gang of good and then the resolution.
Maybe a club statement? Maybe the hype gets so big and so public that we end up with a sacrificial lamb.. somebody held up as the ‘peadophile chanter’ - they lose their job and the baying masses are appeased for the short term. In the long term.. stricter punishments, harsher guidelines and rules WE NEED TO BE RULED!!
It is annoying that there are much larger issues at hand that folks do not understand and cannot comprehend so.. they just fall by the side. Name calling, hurtful name calling..

Let's be clear here, Sunderland aren't singing about us being child abusers because they see it as banter. They're trying to wind us up, because despite their constant protestations that they don't care about us, we know in reality they don't like us very much.
Unfortunately, this is what happens when you have a footballing rivalry, it brings out the worst in people.
When Liverpool and Man United play each other, Liverpool sing about the Munich air disaster, and Man United sing about Hilsborough. That's not banter, it's sick, but they do it because they're rivals and they don't like each other very much.
A decent bit of banter on Sunday was when they sang "You're just a small town in Yorkshire", I actually laughed at that. We should have probably sang "3-0 in your cup final" in return.

The insinuation was that folks didn’t know why Sunderland didn’t like us.. or that nobody had heard of a footballing rivalry before.. or at least were confused as to why groups of fans would sing offensive chants to one another.
I mean it does feel like folks on here don’t know.. but I’m sure they do really.

My view is if Sunderland FC are not going to take a lead on it (and ban those identifiable), then we should just keep the lot of them away from our stadium
