That's literally whataboutery.It's got nothing to do with whataboutery. Boro fans were singing disgusting things in the same two hour period as Sunderland fans were.
OP asks : let's tackle the chants from Sunderland fans.
Reaction: what about the chants from Boro fans? They were bad, too.
However, I'm with the OP in a reply to another poster. That's tackle both together. I want Boro fans to stop the homophobic chanting. Look at my profile and see where I live: it's one of the gayest places in the UK! My brother is gay and it bemused me that I hear London is a town full of rentboys and recall my Boro born brother. And I hate the bonfire chant. I heard it in the North Stand above me (I was in lower part). And the Savile and Adam Johnson chants? Those too. Weirdly enough, I saw Boro at West Ham when we were last in the Premier league and their fans chanted he was one of our own! So, yes. I want rid of those. I just think we should focus on what the OP suggested. Although it may not have been intended, further posts to the OP was redolent of whataboutery.
