Ukraine - invasion underway

Sadly the air attacks are just opening shots as we know now Russian tanks are heading for Kyiv. What happens when they reach a major European capital city as this is an image we’ve not seen since the Second World War.

I'm hearing of 'blitzkrieg' but seeing people shopping, with no sign of loo roll panic.

Ukraine will lose its weaponry and a different puppet government will be installed.

Once they take Kiev, they take Ukraine, the game is then up and Russia will be on the Polish border. Taking Ukraine is not the endgame, sadly it is just the beginning. This is going to be the biggest test of NATO and its strength. Diplomacy is not a word Putin understands, it is a tool in his military armoury to distract, deflect, lull his ultimate enemy while behind the scenes he is preparing for his next showdown.

No it’s not. NATO is not the aim
If it was he’d have took Estonia.

I expect it is a simple "invasion" marking remember that a lot of the Ukrainian military hardware is the same kit so you need to be able to identify your own guys.

Does anybody know the significance of the 'Z' markings on the sides of those vehicles?
I don’t but i have seen it reported as a marker to avoid friendly fire. Some are in squares some triangles which is meant to denote the area they are operating in, but the Z itself no body seems to know other than the above

I don't agree with that, either Russia's intent with regards to Poland or Russia's diplomacy.

He may, like Johnson and Trump, be against the style of democracy dominant in Europe, but he knows that he can't beat NATO, and while China may not be condemning the move today their relationship still needs nurturing by Russia.
