Ukraine - invasion underway

Whatever the politics of it, Russian gas pipelines, sanctions, imperialistic messages...... the real tragedy as ever is the sight of roads and train stations packed with refugees. Again.
That is the real human cost. And on mainland Europe. And on NATO's doorstep.
Something I never thought I'd see in my lifetime.

NATO is a defence organisation, What you suggest would be an aggressive move and create WW3. It would fly in the face of peace. If we did that and created WW3, you could kiss goodbye to life on earth as we know it. Nukes would end up being deployed for sure.

Well we need to do something against Russian aggression, sanctions won't stop them in the path they are taking. Troops will be deployed to Latvia, Poland and Lithuania but thats not good enough.

Ukranians by all measures do not want Putin, there are some provinces that have plenty of russian people, but it isn't 'plenty of support' when you look at the country as a whole
 
Need to empty western bank accounts and confiscate western property owned by anyone with ties or any known allies, pay off western debt and sort the rest of the worlds economies out at Russian expense.

We will do nothing.
The US will do nothing. Most of them will still never heard of the Ukraine in 6 months time.
They are on their own. Just like Chezslovakia.

Even if the Russians bombed us the Americans would do nothing until they were attacked themselves. Again.

What do you mean by “we”?

The U.K.? The world?

A military strike back is not an option, as that is effectively WW3, and Putin knows this.
 
As the us new agencies said yesterday if nato troops are deployed that would see us troops firing at Russian ones and that is WW 3. It’s as simple as that and there’s no way back from that.

Great swathes of real estate in west London will need to be repossessed if that policy is followed. The reason Foxtons estate agents main office in the west end looks like a gold palace is thanks to the inflow of laundered Russian money.

I suggest you read my comments on the other thread.

We can’t do anything as a nation alone. NATO need to bolster defence around Poland, Latvia, Lithania and Estonia. Heavily sanctioning Putins mates will help. It is true we will all be financially affected, but it is the price of regaining peace. The world has never been so dangerous, any country bottling it will be appeasing Russian aggression. We as ordinary people need to accept lifestyles will be affected and we need to plan for it and not blame our government for absolutely everything whichever colour is in power.
