UK Timber shortage

I thought a fair number of the anti Corbyn brigade that I spoke to used that as an excuse to cover their wish for Brexit.

Small sample size admittedly, but prior to the last election when you dug a little almost always there was a Brexit agenda just under the surface.

The tories didn't win by a lot of votes they won a lot of seats by a very small majority.
Maybe some did, but I know a load of ex-forces lads who just cannot stand JC or DA, but give zero toss about brexit, largely as they're loaded and work outside the UK (and the outside the EU) as contractors anyway. Most of them had not paid tax in the UK (or EU) for over 10 years, which shows how much they're not here, and just don't care about brexit, not even when that was one of the main Tory lines. A load of them just think they might get taxed less by the Torys when they do eventually come back.

Yeah, Tories only got like 40% of the votes (about 13m I think), yet have 100% of the power, it's messed up. Same as how 17.4m voted for brexit and only about a thrid of them at best wanted no Customs Union and no Single Market, yet here we are, now going down the path that <10% of the population voted for. Ludicrous.

well that's a hell of a pivot from yesterdays stance that '615 people in a survey is worthless' to ' a handful of people I know say x so it must be true', :ROFLMAO: 🤦‍♂️
Oh please, I gave that information for clarity and so it can be assessed for its worth.

I never said it must be true, either engage honestly or don't bother responding.

'The promises of Brexit are like being sold as Ursula Andress emerging from the Caribbean, but being delivered as Ann Widdecombe emerging from Whitley Bay.'
You’ve got to laugh haven’t you. The pro Brexit stance has gone from “sunlit uplands” and the freedom to create a powerful and sovereign nation to arguing that it isn’t creating food shortages.
I’m sure if we go back five years the brexitists who are proudly trying to prove it isn’t causing food shortages would be a bit more bullish. I don’t remember anyone back then saying “I’m voting for Brexit because I want the same level of food in the supermarkets as we do now”
