Uchea Ikpeazu ... Official ..

I think we're a bit quick to judge a player by his height:
He's 6'3'', so he must be a big donkey target man.

I know it's equally shallow and flawed to judge a player by a YouTube clip, but I think it shows at least there's a bit more skill to him than that.

It'll be good to have a CF that can actually bully defenders for a change. He has proven he can play at this level, probably Wycombes best player. If he can get 6 goals and 4 assists in a poor side can he improve on that with better quality players? He only started about half the games for Wycombe as well, so getting 10+ league goals is what I would be expecting if he is a regular.

Apart from an almost 1 goal in 3 games purple patch for Cambridge, he's a 1 goal in 5 games striker so even over 46 games will struggle to reach double figures.
There are going to be games that we need to dig in & fight for a point and I'm sure he'll give it some effort but he isn't going to score the goals to get us in the top 6.

@newusername sometimes players just click at certain points in their career with a manager or a team. I remember Daryl Murphy with 34 goals in 9 seasons, then he got 13 and then 27 the next 2 years at Ipswich under McCarthy. If anyone can get goals out of a 6 foot 3 lower league lump then Warnock can.

His figures for Wycombe were pretty good last year. I agree that we shouldn't expect big numbers from him, but with McNairs deadballs, you can see him getting more than with Wycombe. We won't really know though until we see him playa few games and see who else we sign, he might end up being a super sub

Off the top of my head didn't we last get promoted with our top goalscorer barely in double figures? Thinking Ramirez or stuani?

That's correct.

Of the forwards only Stuani (36) & Nugent (38) played over 20 times for the side & they got 7 & 8 goals. c.1 in 5
Ramirez & Rhodes played 18 times & got 7 & 6. c.1 in 3
Adomah was next with 6 goals in 43 appearances. c.1 in 7

To be fair it's a while since we've had an absolute unit. He's one of them that you'd say 'look at the size of that fecker' whenever they ranout against Boro.

Then again that Wycombe side was packed with lumps😂

IMHO, without even seeing him play, Im confident he'll be a vast improvement on both Fletcher & Assombalongs, he'll have a presence about him & won't not be bullied, yes every signing is a gamble bot thos e strikers mentioned cost a forture & gave very little back

I don't really see the signing as gamble at the fee and contract.
He could do a Daryl Murphy and come good with Championship goals, or he could prove to be a Kevin Davies type player, or he could be a great impact sub alternative.
I'm encouraged by the signing and think he could be a real cult hero here.

If six months in he hasn't been any of the above, then he hasn't cost the earth, will still have some value and cost a fraction of the recent wasters who we have spunked tens of millions away on.
