Two players left, Who?

So we have taken in £24million , spent about £9-10 million including not just transfers but loan fees, we can take one more loan, so who are the magic two going to be? Obviously if Fry goes then there will be a lot more to spend , but I think CW is going to go with our back 3 as it is and any CB incoming will be support to Lenihan.
After spending the summer dismissing people who have mentioned Gyokeres I think we might have a long shot at him if we put a big bid in.

*Its what happens as you get older , easy mistake to make getting Tav and Fry mixed up🤣🤣🤣 I'm definitely in my granny territory

I can still see a big striker purchase coming, although I'm not that sure we actually need it now.

Someone like Gyokeres or Riis would be the golden ticket I think, Strand Larssen maybe even better, but also maybe much worse, don't think we need to take the risk on him.

Even bang-average strikers should be getting 15-20 in this team, with what we're creating, if they played 40+ games, there's no excuse not to really.

I think Muniz will be above average and hard to say on Forss and Hoppe, but if they're better than Watmore and Akpom then we're going to do alright.

Can see us doing a "oh ....f*ck it" £12m deal for Strand-Larsen on deadline day, and as for CM ......🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️. Loan? Buy? Young PL talent. Foreign player with potential?

Yeah I can see a loan, Ampadu or the return of Nathaniel Chalobah will do me.

If Fry is to leave I still think we will be one light at CB so wouldn’t be shocked to see a punt on a young centre half with potential from lower league to maybe be a back up option to Lenihan

This Akpom will create and score, he's changed
I was sat on the front row at QPR at the end he came over and kissed a baby girl who was being held by probably his partner. If the last two years have been for him worrying about a pregnant partner and trying to adopt to Warnock style then he may have had a lot of worries and obstacles removed for him and we might see the best over a season.

The numbers of strikers we have doesn't add up for me. We have 7 with the expected new addition and Muniz, Hoppe, Akpom, Watmore, Forss and Coburn.

Coburn will likely leave on loan, but that would still leave 6. Will we really have 6 strikers, when we are only playing one or two?

Surely another will leave, so its either Watmore or Akpom? Given Akpom seems to have redeemed himself and Watmore is getting plenty of minutes its hard to see what happens. As much as Hoppe and Forss are "projects", we have paid decent money for them and they will be involved with the first team.

Its a nice problem for Wilder to have, but I still don't see how having 6 strikers in the first team squad will work.

I kinda agree, maybe Hoppe can go out on loan so he gets the minutes he wants for the world cup, which would leave us Forss, Watmore, Akpom, Muniz,
Coburn would be going out on loan as well.

"Hoppe and Forss are "projects""

From Emnes onwards, I'm coming round to the view that 'project' = 'panic buy'.

Four strikers is essential under CW he likes two sets of two which has talked about and he will alternate the pairs through the season, we are probably a few weeks away from him working out who is the best combination, he also said he likes a 5th striker about , which would be Watmore in my books, Dodgy knees yes but a potential big impact player for short periods.

We've just had 2 games where we had to play 1 up front and that is with a squad of 5. 6 is fine because 4 of them will get game time every week and if we are losing then another will get a chance. Then you have to account for injuries and rotation. WE have players in other positions covering several positions (McNair & Bola) which leaves us with more space for strikers.

I don't see the problem with 6 strikers tbh. Can't see any of the ones we already have being on massive wages anyway.

Wilder uses 4 every game. So you'd think he wants 5 or 6 to make sure he always has 4 available.

3 big lads - Larsen, Hoppe, Akpom, Coburn
3 quicker players for those nearpost tap ins we create a lot of - Muniz, Watmore, Forss

I would say Muniz is more a physical type of forward than quick near post merchant .

You might as well send the 6th and 7th out, too many strikers and then we have a situation where players aren't getting the game time they need to maintain and improve their play to have the impact that would be wanted off them. At least if you choose loans wisely you can get them into teams that will give them the opportunity to improve and maybe bring them back in January.
