TV licence court letter.

I've plead guilty and wrote a huge statement like, hopefully they go easy. TV licences are ridiculous. I'll take my fine for the TV I don't watch and then get a TV licence for all the action on the channels I have no desire to watch haha

Get IPTV no licence necessary

I had a to and fro with these chunts a couple of years ago.

I paid my licence online but did not get a confirmation email. I forgot about it but then started getting warning letters telling me I hadn't paid. I exchanged several angry emails with their lair in Darlington and they eventually acknowledged I had paid, but not before I had got letters threatening fines, visits and prison. Fortunately these only served to boil my p!ss and if I had got a visit then the person would have left my house minus his teeth, but if it had been some vulnerable person it would have been very stressful for them.

Interesting.

I had a visit about a month ago as I dont have a license.

I said I dont need one as I watch youtube, netflix amazon prime and dont watch tv. I actually really dont.

He said can I come in and check? I said sure.

He came in tried bbc iplayer on my smart tv. It wasnt logged in. So he just said thats fine mate Ill put down you dont need one.

Basically live TV doesn't come on in my house barring my wrestling PPV's that cost £20 for the privilege.
Making me rue the day I upgraded to TV! I never watch live TV or record it ever but because I have a box I have to plead guilty.
A guy did come to my house and I explained to him its never watched, only my wrestling PPV's. He asked me if I was to watch anything what would it be, I said BT Sport.
Interview that they've put on the back was totally different to what we actually said
You have admitted the offence to the 'visitor' so you're bang to rights, I'm afraid. It's not the possession of the box, it's your admission that you do watch live TV. 'Only a little' is no defence.

Never let them in. Don't engage them in conversation.

Nope, youtube, Netflix and football manager for me. No desire for live TV, don't have sky sports for football.
Like I say wrestling PPVs and they cost me £20 extra
The wrestling PPV will be live won’t it? Even watching live tv once would legally mean you needed a licence I would imagine.

Try speaking with citizens advice, they will give free legal advice and might speak with them on your behalf as well. Always helpful having someone who knows how to deal with the system on your side

Amazon Prime has live TV. If you watch anything live on it then you need a licence.

They can’t prove that though. You can legally have Amazon prime and no licence.
They can't prove anything. You can have the full Sky package but claim you don't watch anything. If you do watch anything, even once, then you should have a licence.

What constitutes Live TV in the new world though?

For example is watching a Youtube stream live counted, what about Twitch feeds, what about if you subscribe to OnlyFans, that can be streamed live so do you need a TV licence for that ?

They need to revisit the rules based on the technology available today, not 10 years ago, and be much clearer.
