Truss runs away

Bit of a biased report here.
Gives her no credit for taking decisive action again today, having already done it in September to stop everyone having to pay fuel bills of £6500 because of Putin's evil obnoxious war.
NOBODY asked her any questions about fuel costs, so it's a side issue to the whole performance. If you see the above as bias, then I think you are being bias, naive, and treating politics as some kind of lifelong football team. The performance was absolutely awful, there are no positives from that performance.

She didn't TAKE decisive action today, she was FORCED into decisive action against her principles (however misguided and stupid they are), purely to stop a coup by Tory MPs to oust her.....she even failed in that though.

I renewed my energy tariff in July 2021. Best I could get was about 25% higher than my previous tariff. Putin started his military build up about six months after then and only invaded in February 2022, so why were energy prices climbing steeply months before?

Quite right. Inflation and increasing energy costs were an issue before Ukraine. Johnson couldn't believe his luck that he could deflect all of these problems on to Putin.

Realistically she will have to be "made to resign" by the men in grey suits. After that performance the Tories have even less of a chance in the next election with her in power.
The question is who is next. The answer is anyone is better than her and will give them a greater than zero chance at the next G E.

You will be pleased to hear that the clammer for de Pfeffel is gaining momentum. There is a loophole in the rules that could let him back in

exactly, the claim that energy price rises are purely caused by Putin is a fallacy, but some people suck it up

The problem they have is that the public will simply not accept another PM without an election now, the pressure will be immense. Johnson was a broken record of bluster and nonsense, a ridiculed figure of corruption, he can't be the answer

The thing is if they get rid of her do they go back to the Tory party members who then vote in someone even more right wing? I'm picturing someone with Hitler's brain and a set of jump leads.

Decisive action that means the taxpayer is burdened with £160bn of debt so that the energy companies get to keep their eye-watering profits? Is that the decisive you mean?

One of the top guys at Shell was practically begging for the government to enforce a windfall tax to pay for the cap. They didn't. Intead they lumbered the tax payer and in doing so, disproportionally the lower earners.

I noticed she didn't row back on the banker bonus cap being removed. Calling anyone biased when typing through your blue-tinted glasses as you are is ridiculous.

Having read the rest of the thread I'm having a whoooooosh moment. Apologies @norfolkngood (y)

To Westminster, district of the damned, where the Conservatives are plotting to commit leadercide yet again. They’ve dispatched so many over the past few years that it’s possible they regard Harold Shipman as the real opposition. You certainly get the feeling he could poll higher than them
Brilliant opening to Martina Hyde column in the Grauniad
