What’s the plan? Where do we need some extra oomph?

Can’t think of much myself;
If Liverpool take Doak back then probably need to replace him as best we can. Naturally we’ll sign a few left backs because that’s our way these days. Apart from that I don’t really know…
 
Engel goes, so a new left back.. still. Maybe Giles.
Replacement for ELL. By that I mean the next ELL. High value, high potential but not yet made it.
I think Jones will be gone in January, could be a loan. No chance Liverpool recall a 19 year old that is flying in a team at the top of the table, playing football that is perfect for him. 0

Doak won't make the Liverpool squad, he is developing nicely here and getting great experience..when we hand him back next season, they will have a much better player, to take him now will stunt his development.

Jones definitely looking from the outside in but I think we kind of know he’s had some family issues and even though he’s said they were behind him I get the feeling they still exist. I’m sure the club is working with him but it’s definitely not a happy situation .
 
Izzy needs an arm wrapped around him at present. He's had his problems recently, he's low on form, low on confidence and needs some caring. He'll get back to his former self given good management and time. Class is permanent, form is temporary.
So, come on Izzy lad deep breaths, listen and train hard knowing that you still have a place in the squad and the thoughts of the majority of Boro supporters.

I don't think we need much. Arguably anything.

We have some really good champo players who are getting little or no game time. The strength of our bench today was scary. To think we brought on Conway/ McGree and Forss at one point. That's with Hackney/Morris/Rav and Dieng missing.

I'm sure we do have some targets. The success of Rav and Morris etc suggests we can find talented young players abroad Apparently we were after Morris and Conway for a few years. Just waiting for them to be available. So no doubt a few long-term targets being monitored.

The likes of Ayling and Edmondson have been terrific signings. It shows that experience is also needed.

Louie Barry would be interesting. He has the look of an Azaz or Rogers type. Although thinks he's a decent reputation already.

No doubt Giles will be linked. I see on here that he already is 😂. He's not had a great couple of years and can't get into the Hull team. I'm not convinced he's worth what would be a significant financial outlay. Especially wages. That said maybe a loan would suit both parties as clearly Hull don't want a high earner sat on the bench.

I'd argue the more important issue is keeping hold of players. Doak / LL/ Azaz and Hackney etc will all have suiters.
 
In terms of squad numbers, I doubt we’d be looking to add overall so I guess it just replacing anyone who does go, or potentially snaffling up any opportunities that are two good to miss due to circumstance (ie Azaz last January)

Should lend him to Rooney for January, just the one month to get him some game time and help take points off our competitors.
