I think today shows what Gibson expects from this team this season. If we creep into the playoffs great! That’s a bonus. However I think he sees it as a consolidation season. Get some solid players in and then build on it for next year.

The clubs shown it;s complete lack of ambition by the sale of Rogers
I've no doubt that Hackney and anybody else worth a few quid - Jones, RVB, Coburn etc will go in the summer
So the new manager - 'cos I can't imagine Carrick will want to start from scratch again - will be given the usual clutch of free transfers, kids and no-hopers that normally arrive every summer.
Mid-table mediocrity is our long term future if we continue to sell all our best assets,

I don’t think we will. I don’t think there is anyone out there that would fit the bill. We can manage for the rest of the season with what we have, and we’re not going up anyway. If there was someone we could see as the right fit but maybe needing time to settle it wouldn’t be the end of the world to buy them now and have them kick on next season. But I do think it will be the summer now.

They have known rogers was going for a fortnight. I will be pîssed off if we are stuck with coburn who needs a hernia and latte also injured as are only striker options. I have no problem selling rogers if the money was reinvested without signing a striker its a bad bad window

I get what you are saying but you can take a more long term view of things. Forss has come back in and looked good, maybe he is the striker we go with for the rest of the season. I don’t think we are that bad off with Greenwood, McGree, Coburn, ELL, Jones, Forss, Silveira, Azaz and Crooks. There are goals there.

FPP exists, losses cannot be endless, books have to be balanced and this is how that's achieved. It's not lack of ambition it's trying to build something that's actually realistic and sustainable.

Absolutely no chance. Scott will be tucked up in bed now. The press conference will be “we tried. We had targets but for whatever reason they weren’t available. We are happy with the squad we have blah blah blah”.

It’s the hope that kills.

As expected.

Disappointing, and I don't see us finishing in the play-offs with what we've got.

We live in hope though and I'll still be there for the ride.

3 points on Sunday to clear the haze would be brilliant.

Never mind , no worry, so we have an easy ride for the rest of the season.
We do not expect promotion and we shouldn’t get relegated.
England cricket starts in a while. How will we do playing 3 spinners?
Sport continues.
