Transfer window - striker poll

Will we sign a striker today

It would be handy but I’ve voted no purely on the basis there wouldn’t be much point in us signing someone unless it was someone of sufficient quality. It would have to be an improvement on Gilbert and Hoppe. If not wait until the summmer
 
I’ve voted no because I think Coburn and LL, are both fit/close to being fit and there’s other options in the squad. Forss, greenwood, silvera
 
Almost certain we won't.

Which is a real shame considering we need one, barring a miraculous recovery from Latte Lath and Coburn's hernia vanishing.
If they're fully fit, it's no problem, but they're not.

Seems like a window where we're no stronger than we were before it opened.

Brought in Azaz, but lost Rogers.

Strengthened with Ayling.

Thomas brought in because of a mid-window injury to Bangura, so as you were there, unless he proves a massive upgrade.

That's assuming no further outgoings or incoming.
 
I’ll admit I’m not sure either but you’d think kav leaving means we must have someone lined up

but silence is deafening and not long to go.
 
I don't feel like Kavanagh leaving has any bearing on anything tbh. Not like he was playing so he's hardly a big loss.
 
I don't think there is a raft of options available. There are a plethora of teams after a striker in the championship who haven't been able to bring the right one in either.

I' rather we kept our powder dry for the summer and purchased a longer term permanent option. The Jan window very much works on a trickle down basis. There is another post on here which mentions the amount prem teams have spent this Jan compared to last. If they aren't recruiting, it lessens the movement further down the ladder.

I wanted to think the Kavanagh transfer would mean one was coming in, but as has been said above he barely played. We were happier to have Silvera/Greenwood roaming forwards than try him out

I think if we were going to sign someone at this stage, there would have been a link, or someone ITK would have said something. As it is hopefully Coburn and LL can step up throughout the rest of the season

Maybe the return of Crooks as the number 9 👀 🙈
 
Feels a bit late in the day now. I know there over 6 hours to go, but I think we would've heard some rumblings by now.

Careful what you wish for.... it's not FM.... If you buy someone poor ...AKA Hoppe then we are stuck with them. for the next 4 months until we can loan them out...

Another Coburn/ELL, not really...

Someone to come in and be the main striker for us in a push for the play offs, a focal point who will be the main man, then yes please.

But no, i don't think we'll sign anyone of that ilk.
