Tory MP suspended

not quite all labour 28 Labour mp's abstained, the vote won by 18 had those 28 voted against the bill it would have been voted down

They were all paired with a Tory MP (who also would abstain) due to not being able to attend the vote for whatever reason.

Standard commons process, really wish people would learn how things work before getting the knife out.

I do know how it works as I stated above I didn't know they couldn't attend

Sounds like they are rowing back a bit now.
They have tried to get away with a power grab. It hasn't work so they will pretend it didn't happen. They'll try again eventually.

It's vitally important that we, the citizens of this country, don't let them forget this. Keep the anger yesterday brought upon them and demand better standards from our elected officials. Let's not be "british" about this anymore, and ignore the issue.

Let's scream and shout until this level of corruption becomes as abhorrent as it should be in a civilised country

They like to dumb down the facts so that they can blow smoke up peoples ass that Labour are just as corrupt. Labour are nowhere near and never have been, even when Blair had a decade in power they didn't behave like this lot
Problem is the 'they got Brexit done' mentality - often from people who didn't care about Brexit before 2016 - is still so popular that it won't affect them in the polls. They'd probably have won a by-election, but know they can get away with avoiding it. Some of the biggest whoppers 12 years or so ago on expenses were Tories, but Labour had been in power over 10 years - so they got tarnished more

Here we are:

  • The spokesman would not say if Johnson discussed the Owen Paterson case with Charles Moore at the dinner on Tuesday. (See 10.13am.) Moore and Paterson are very close friends, and Moore has been one of his strongest defenders in the media. The spokesman said it was a private dinner and he had not discussed it with the PM.

Pish poor media management (again) - the correct answer is "it was a private social dinner; I don't know what was discussed."

It will trigger a by-election but it is an absolutely safe Tory seat. Shame as it would have been nice seeing him try to justify his behaviour on the door step at the next GE. I wonder who will replace him? Someone of the same ilk undoubtably.
