Tories: British Houses for British Workers

Oh look, a meaningless but popular slogan, five words this time rather than the usual three, with absolutely no policy or practical ideas behind it, which are probably legally unenforceable anyway, which ministers can recite over and over and over again in TV soundbites without doing any practical work to solve an actual problem, and the opposite will probably happen.

On the scale of Tory **** I’d put it below “Red, White and Blue Brexit” but above “Stop the Boats” (which actually meant preside over increase in net migration from 250k from 2003-2009 to 750k+ in 2021, 2022 and 2023).

This the Tory tactic?

Put forward unenforceable policies that will get nowhere because they are illegal and then blame the system which will make the RWNJ foam at the mouth and back the Tories.

Social and/or affordable housing.

Developers are enabled by Local Authorities of all sides of the the political spectrum spectacularly weak as p*ss when it comes to enforcing their own planning policies regarding social/affordable housing.

Whole system needs a massive reboot ......but won't happen anytime soon unless enormous government subsidies are available. Which they won't be as the country is on its ar*e financially.

A huge amount of social housing is actually owened by foreign investors.

This is a bit of a strange one as many local councils already operate a local connection policy when allocating social housing.
