Too nice??

A disappointing but predictable result considering we were missing any pace up front. What surprised me was that we only committed 5 fouls in the whole game. I’m not suggesting we should be kicking lumps out of them but there’s what used to be described as “letting them know they’ve been in a game.”

Some of that is actually credit to the ref who was having none of the dramatic playacting and dying swan routines from some of the Chelsea players and kept the game going.

I do feel we perhaps lack a bit of needle in these kind of games.

I feel the same about England under Southgate too.

Don't think it would of made a jot of difference to the actual outcome of the tie tonight.
But as a general sentiment I'd suggest we were 20% too nice tonight, not only in physicality, but mainly in possession based / trying to play out everywhere and everytime.
Had we gone it at half time 0 - 2 , even 0 - 3, you've a chance to get a goal and make it a pressure cooker for them.

Yes. We were far too nice. We gifted them several chances, again, but this time they took their chances.
