Tony Pulis

Pulis was crap.. he was a total blag.

Carrick is fine.. we could do with a right back and a defensive midfielder

Regardless if he could, the squad has far too many fluffy weak attacking midfielders , barely any centre backs, and 1 ball winner

Carrick has to play to the teams strength, or at least attempt to

Yes , Bring back hoofball Pulis

That would be a typical Pulis line up

I'm not convinced by Carrick. Or at least I am convinced we won't get promoted. I do enjoy watching us when we are playing well and even when we are not the games are exciting. I hated everything about watching us under Pulis. Wins weren't even enjoyable. The only good thing was Traore and as much as Pulis likes to take all the credit it was all down to Traore's natural ability/physique. It was like an adult playing against kids but Pulis thinks it was all down to him.

When you look at the teams he used to put out, they were awful.

-----------Randolph
Shotton-Fry-Ayala-Flint-Friend
--Besic-Howson-Mikel-Saville

-------------Hugill

Then he players like McNair, Clayton, Cranie all coming on, and we had the likes of Tav, Downing, Wing, Traore, Roberts not getting a look in.

Didn't he come out with some cr@p about his switching wings at half time so TP could guide him through the game?

Traore just needed game time as he lacked experience, he came good when he had enough games and it just coincided it was when Pulis happened to be manager so obviously
he decided it was all down to him

Doesn't explain how all the other players in the sqaud got worse though under his tenure if he was some miracle worker , he must have used up all his Pulis
magic on one player

He also kept making excuses about having to cut the cloth accordingly , and at the same time wasting 15 million on aiden flint and Geroge saville, 2 average championship
plodders who pound for pound go down as 2 of the worst transfers in the clubs history, i mean, he signed flint purely to score from set pieces, he was never a good defender

Not sure why you would compare Pulis against Carrick when he had twice the wage budget

Mind blowing to me there are some boro fans who think Pulis is a better manager than Carrick

Carrick so far has achieved pretty much zilch in his managerial career
Pulis on the other hand……

Time is on Carrick’s side of course

This is my jam.

Do you reckon we could get him to come in as assistant to Carrick and get him to teach us how to organise a defence. Think our players and manager would benefit from defensive coaching course

I suggest you listen to his undr the cosh .. his game plan was give the ball to Adama and let him do the rest

Objectively he is, he’s achieved more.

He’s still a F***ing boring husk of a man.

I really don't think it's that straightforward. A lot of the goals we've conceded this season have been a consequence of our insistence on playing this high risk/high reward style of football.

The Swansea and Burnley home games show that we can defend. Against Swansea we were happy to allow them to have the ball after going a goal up and we were able to keep our shape and discipline that day. We barely gave them a sniff. Against Burnley it was obvious we were making a conscious effort to take less risks and be more disciplined off the ball and we were able to keep a clean sheet.
We were leaky against Sheff utd and WBA as well don’t forget

I don’t think it’s all that crazy really. I’m happy with Carrick, and I think he will go on to have a good career in management, but he is still brand new.

If I was giving one of them a job for a year then I think I’d probably go for Pulis at this moment in time.

Jesus H Christ. I wonder if there are some other bedwetters from Blackburn or West Brom suggesting their managers needs TONY PULIS in as a manager coach?? HAHAHAHAHA

Why are certain parts of our fan base OBSESSED with former players and managers coming back to the club?????

That is so right about Traore - it wasn't Pulis, it was for a period of time in the championship that Traore was unplayable - both assists and goals scored. The one part that doesn't usually get a mention was Bamford's role in that - he created gaps and space for Traore and Besic (to a lesser degree).

The insight of Pulis...... Playoff semi final..... He plays Assombalonga because Bamford isn't man enough for him.

I don't care about PPG etc for Pulis - he was and is likely still to be.....a caveman!

And he was the bad answer to the Garry Monk question. FFS some bad decision making in our recent history!!!

Its not about organising a defence, its about playing out from the back and knowing when not to.

I thought Travers decision making on that front was good on Monday night, and if there was no one really on he went long. Sol Brynn also seemed to know when to just hoof it up the pitch rather than play a defender into trouble and force a mistake.

And that could be the thing - we haven’t had an experienced keeper for ages and now we have that decision making might just improve and cut down on the sloppy mistakes.

Carrick can tell them all her wants but in the heat of the moment if the keeper decides to go short and we concede what can the manager do?
