To All The Tory Voters

For those who say I'll always vote Labour, Well that says everything about yourself.

You're right about that:

It says I've got a conscience.
It says I have principles.
It says I have no time for people with 'contacts' and sharp elbows.
It says I want a fully funded NHS owned by the people and not by American private corporations.
It says I welcome people from other countries who want to live and work here and contribute to our economy and society.

I could go on.

Been a member on the old site since 2011 and this site since it was formed. Just don't bother looking very often.
I've contributed opinions on football in the past although not regularly.
Must have struck a nerve if you've investigated my activity.

I'm not sure this is the board for you somehow.

Like I said earlier, I voted Labour up to and including the Blair administration and since then voted Tory and UKIP.
I have an open mind when elections arrive and vote for whoever will look after myself and my family.
For those who say I'll always vote Labour, Well that says everything about yourself.
How does anything UKIP stand for look after you and your family? Unless you don't like foreigners?

What's Boris done for your family so far out of interest?
How about paying less tax, Giving me the chance to transfer my pension and retire early ( not Boris but Tories) and when I die being able to leave my money and assets to my family instead of letting Labour tax me to death.
Maybe I should have given up that for the free internet on offer by Labour.

If you think you are paying less tax under the Tories than under Labour then you are easily led. Labour actually reduced VAT in general, and on gas and electricity they reduced it to 5%. Tories as well as introducing VAT, have only ever increased it as well as applying it onto other products such as insurance. (For goodness sake, you pay tax on life insurance, pet insurance, car, holiday, flight, home, contents and anything else that you want to insure.) Inheritance tax would not have affected the ordinary person so unless you were extremely rich there would have been no difference to you.
You would have been able to transfer your pension under Labour too.
Given the amount of unemployment now, and the need for people to use the internet just to find work, I think free internet is a brilliant idea.

The only difference in the two parties manifestos at the last election for tax was re: the amount people on over £85k have to pay. Fair enough if that's you but it's not exactly indicative of Labour not being the party of "the working man" is it?

The Labour manifesto also didn't have any policy change on inheritance tax. They did commission some research paper look at changing the threshold before you pay a tax. From memory it was something like changing the tax free limit from ~£1m to ~£350k.

Not sure why anyone would be sarcastic about the policy nationalising the internet. Surely that, more than anything, has been proven to be a good idea by the events of 2020. The four extra bank holidays, the pay rise for public sector staff, bringing back collective bargaining for trade unions - if these aren't "working man" policies, what are?
