Your right with there needs to be a reason for people to travel to boro. That's why it's a shame the ski centre got shafted as there has to be something that will attract people in. Other than the footy they isn't really anything else that any other Northern town has

Yeah, in fact even all the stuff at captain cook square is only "me too" stuff that other places have, but it's a start at least and better than big empty units or shops that are in retail parks and other town centres already.

Town has tons of restaurants and takeaways already, I don't think we need more of those and I don't think a boutique cinema takes people away from cineworld or the other way round.

No one is coming to boro for the day/night because we have a Nando's; they might come for the Stacks thing, level X or the esports arena, but I can definitely appreciate that these things appeal to a younger demographic than most of this forum 😂

I use the term restaurants loosely but would also like to question the restaurants you mention in the town centre or are you including the wider Middlesbrough area above the Cleveland Centre?

I'm not arguing for more restaurants though? The town centre has tons within easy walking distance and is full of bars and takeaways. Extra ones are a bonus in business rates, jobs and choice but we need more interesting things to do than that.

I know you aren't, and I do agree with you that the town needs something instead of empty retail units but what I am suggesting is it would be better to keep them all together rather than a little leisure area here, and another bit there.

The places I mentioned in my first post to you I tend to avoid like the plague. In fact, we tend to drive past Cineworld to go to the Showcase Cinema.

But there isn't anywhere over there to put stuff like level x or the esports arena is there?
 
Genuinely think there should be some proper mental stuff in town, snow centre, indoor theme park, indoor water park etc.

No-one is going to visit Middlesbrough for the culture or the scenery, may as well go mad.
