Tiverton By Election

Tiverton looks like the recent seat in Shropshire that swung a lot to the Liberals. Its safe for someone to register a protest vote. At 1.40 (2/5) for the Liberals it could be worth a little bet.

Any reason why the Tory vote will hold up there when it didn't in Shropshire?

Looking at the 2019 election - there will be a "shock" only if Conservative voters sit on their hands.
Its happened before - maybe Boris has put the champagne on ice before the result?

I suspect that Bunters recent (almost daily) scandals and c ups will see LD over the line. Its apparent that the majority of the UK electorate are totally pig sick of his corrupt government and Bunter in particular. Even the Tories are recognising that he is doing untold damage to their party.

I think sadly Tories will hold Honiton/Tiverton albeit with a massively reduced majority. This will then be presented by Bunter et al as some sort of massive triumph.

Sadly I agree. It might be cut to 5,000 but the hold will be displayed as a big win, which for Johnson it would be.

If it's overturned, even by 1 vote, it's an enormous swing and will cause big ructions in Tory HQ, the knives will be out.

The bookies odds are all over the place. Some have the tories shortening some drifting. They are still about 3 to 1 with most bookies

Playing devils advocate but what happens to Kier Starmer's leadership should the unlikely happen and the Tories keep one or both seats?
