Thoughts on Wilder's post match interview

Viv the Burnley episode was on reflection the end of the trust between him and gibbo
He handled it terribly and has done nothing but call out players and sulk about marquee signings ever since...making those that are here think....well f&&& you wilder....
Now he's going at the crowd for expressing their unhappiness...
It's the end of the line and sadly I think most people would agree
After the world cup break I expect we will have Sean dyche in the hotseat.
Just my opinion
Mogga and JFH would be top of my list.

What did you all think?

One line especially stuck out to me.... "I do sometimes wonder why the expectations are so high here...the club has been out of the top division for so long".

It's Wilder himself that has consistently said publicly... "This is a big football club at this level", "I haven't come here to be mid table" and "We'll be competing at the top end of this division".

He cut a frustrated, down beat figure. He's been hugely successful in every position he's had so far in his managerial career (promoted in every job he's had if I'm right?) but it's not working here.

We've won 4 out of the last 19.
He’s clearly not happy with the club for not getting all the players in he wanted - understandable really when he was probably given assurances before he came here that he would be backed. He probably feels like he’s been thrown under the bus to a certain extent, and we all knew the midfield needed a big upgrade, even before Tav left. We should be doing better though, even though we’re three first team starters short. I think he’s beginning to cause some friction amongst his team with the open criticism as well. He’s not going to see the season out here imo

There was no Burnley episode, if there had been Gibbo would have peddled him (same as he did with Monk)

He would make a good used car sales man with the patter he gives us fans and players he has brought in. Wevw all fallen for it. Hes had a couple of good sesons at champo and premiership level. Rest of his success was lower league stuff.

Dreadful line. No idea why he'd come out with something like that. Reminds me of Karanka having a go at the fans for chanting attack attack attack during games we were losing at home, and of Strachan saying he'll go home and get off his face on drugs.
When Wilder was on about taking abuse from fans..

Nah, mate. You’ve bigged yourself up, slagged the players off and now you need to take a look in the mirror.

Sander Berge, Callum O’Hare & Viktor Gyökeres.. he didn’t get them.

So despite him being the best manager in the league, he can’t outperform our previous two managers!

Wasn’t he Premier League Manager of the Year 36 months ago?

I thought this was a very balanced interview and Wilder made some reasonable points.

For me he is clearly expressing his frustrations with the squad but doing it in a fairly discreet manner.

The quality of this squad does not meet the club’s stated ambitions.
