Well done Red Faction and it's a step in the right direction.
It's got us from being the most expensive to joint most expensive with Southampton and Coventry for child's ticket.

Personally I would like it to be around the £10 mark like the majority of other clubs to really bring the kids in but at least it's progress.

It was a tough meeting - lasted 3 hours. There was all sorts going on. Had the feeling of a really important political discussion. Because it was really important for club and fans. It was constantly going into extra time. Real tension. Real passion from all sides. It was still in the balance right to the end. In fact until this announcement.

Am so delighted we have found a way forward and a point from which to work from for the future.

It is indeed.

I wonder if, as the compiler of that table, you can answer a question to save me doing the research. We don’t have a U12 price as such. In a sense therefore it’s fair enough to use our U18 as that’s what they would pay. In another sense, it might almost completely missed the point.

If we are the only club in the division that doesn’t, and the rest all do, then the bigger question should be why we don’t in the first place. If about half don’t, and about half do, then picking that as a comparative price point is probably quite misleading. Any idea which is true?

I know from some work with the FSA there is no set definition of concessions. So just as Rotherham offer OAP rates to over 60s some clubs also have different levels for under 12s, under 16s, under 18s.
Should the very considerable Boro family enclosure be missing from so much of the concession analysis? Especially when there is provision for match by match tickets now as well as season tickets.

I used U12 price as it was middle ground.

Most clubs have a a tiered system of some sort. Without going back to each individual club I couldn't tell you exactly how many but I would guess it was somewhere in the region of 15 clubs. the tiers varied. Some have an U6 price, some have an U8 price. Some have an U12 price. Some have au U14 price. Some have a childs price that stops at U16. Some have a childs price that stops at U18.

It is literally impossible to do a like for like comparison across the 24 clubs.

So I picked U12 as it was central to the tiers. Half way between the 6 year olds and 18 year olds and was generally central to each clubs junior pricing. I was trying to make it as representative of childs pricing as possible without over complicating it.

QPR for example have tickets that are free for U8s and have kids for a quid scheme which I ignored for this.

West Brom are a fiver for all U17s but then go to £12 for 17-19 year olds. The list say £5

Plymouth are £2 for U8s, £6 for U14 and £9 for U19. The list says £6.

But I think your point that Boro don't have an U12 price as such is actually a failing. A further reduced U12 or U10 price would be a great addition to our concession range.

This is a positive result for families and the supporter groups deserve immense credit for making changes. The main problems last week were kids walk up and early bird deadline, . I think £15 is a start but still too expensive, a new pricing structure or around £7 for under 12s and £12 for 12-17 year olds would be about fair. I would hope with technology that could reduce fraud in concession tickets which I assume is a major issue to the club. I would accept the rises for adults to be honest as I get Gibson's point about rising costs and he should not to have keeping aborting that. If we reduce budgets (which is an option) we will get less fans due to a less competitive team. Remember those who slag off Gibson there is no legal reason for him to continue to fund the club like he does. The accounts show that he is doing and we are too reliant on that.

There was a bit of chew on here earlier this week regarding RF's original decision.

I'm delighted it has all been sorted and fair play to both the club and RF for working through this for the benefit of the club and fans.

Also worth remembering, when our passions run high, we all want the best for the club and the fans.
The chairman called in the meeting at very short notice - all the relevant officers were there and Mbro Supporters Forum took a big part in the discussion - I really do hope Red Faction will rejoin. We make a good team all together. Remember the Forum got the renewal date put back and last night we made sure that everyone was round that table.

It is progress but still a long way to go and why wasn't these discussions done before the announcement. So when's the price freeze coming for adult tickets. Also why didn't they extend it to the 21-18 concession or the over 65s. Why just u18 it's the beginning not the end but has to be a mass protest if they is nothing done on adult ticket prices

If you bought your season ticket for the current season using the PL package then Coventry were offering a price freeze for 5 years. Unless they got promoted to the PL which you'd get a PL season ticket for free for the first season.
Yes but only <5% of fans will have the £8k+ for a family to do that and even then promotion would mean paying more. Seems like Cov have made a bold financial gamble if many took that up. You are effectively spending future earnings

This table feels more exciting than the round table in the traitors.

3 hours for that? Nothing at all about the cost of season tickets, the cost of finance, the horrendous messaging from the club, the ridiculous initial deadline?

A really important political discussion? Tension and passion? Give over Rob!

3 hours for a £4 saving on a child walk up ticket? Unbelievable - nothing at all on the rest of the issues.

sounds like a lot more than the that was talked about

That is risky, especially if they have indeed invested the upfront cash received. They would have to defer 80% of the income in the accounts as it relates to future seasons. Not sure on take-up, however, could lead to a cash shortage in future seasons.
