This is not on carrick

And Carrick they are team who everything goes through so says Carrick. Or do you just not like giving Carrick any blame
Absolutely, as he trains the players and picks the team. But he can only work with what he is given. The blame will ultimately sit with him when he is sacked though.

Really 🤔

Not too mention all three forwards.
At the moment I'm happy enough to support the idea that we write this season off and build for the future - RVB, Engel, Silvera, Rogers and Lath may go on to develop into top players at this level.

I've also got no issue with the club sticking with Carrick, as we can't continue this trend of sacking managers early into the season and starting over again.

I just can't help but feel concerned by our League form though. We had those key players for the final few League games and the play-offs and look what happened.

The lack of transparency from the club really isn't helping, because it may be that the club accept that the signings we've made are downgrades on the players we had, but they may believe that they will develop into better players, but because there is no communication from the club, fans are just believing that once again the recruitment team have messed up. What is the plan? Is there a plan?

So you are happy enough if we drop out of this league?

Pulis clicked, the penny dropped with Woodgate, Warnock recognised.. Wilder was a fcuking asrehole but Carrick seems to be banging his head against a wall right now.

Ignoring our weaknesses, dropping players into our system regardless of fitness..

Even Coulson starting.. the point is there somewhere. WINGBACKS & more bodies in midfield.

We were the definition of a team that wins games by out-scoring the opposition last season. We were also particularly good at keeping possession and you can't score if you don't have the ball.
We've lost all of that out-scoring talent and so our existing frailties are being exposed. Carrick needs to find a way to stop the rot and for all those who say we shouldn't rely on loan players, if we don't use the loan market effectively again we will be bottom half this season.

The championship is a form league - teams go on good runs and bad runs.

This time last year Reading were top of the league - I still think if it clicks it could be fine for playoffs/promotion challenge this season - whether you can change a bad run of form is a big thing as a coach. Mowbray could not do it well, Wilder could not do it with Sheff Utd or us... can Carrick?

We will see - I'm hopeful

I pointed out weeks ago that we need to start asking questions about Carrick and it was mostly poo pooed.

From what I’ve seen he had a new manager bounce, then got some ridiculous attacking players and we were able to outscore everyone. I hold him responsible for the play-off loss, the 2nd leg was sheer stubbornness / naivety.

What actually does he do with these players on the training ground? We can’t defend corners and we can’t score from them. Defence should be one of the easiest things to get right on the training ground, and he still hasn’t resolved that after nearly a year.

If we can’t beat QPR I think there’ll be serious questions asked about whether he’s actually a good manager, I’m seeing very little evidence of his coaching ability on the pitch. We look a shambles all over the pitch.

I wouldn't agree that " if we can't beat " any team questions should be asked..
I also wouldn't question his coaching ability " all over the pitch "...

If we concede more than we score .. I think it's fair to question the " technically pretty " vs " the reality of championship" starting formation and individuals chosen.

There's no doubt we've been a bit "found out " ... It's now up to the coaching staff to re-adapt and change things somehow... but not in a bedwetty way

People seem to forget that he is a young Manager with less than a year into his first Management role. He is bound to make mistakes. It is how you get experience and you learn more about your team when you lose. We were spoilt last year by how well we did. Now he has been given a load of inexperienced players in a very hard competitive league. We have played 4 games and have got off to a bad start but FFS give Carrick a chance. Don’t force out a good young Manager who wants to play football in an exciting way. He is not daft, he will get it right. (y)

Carrick, for my money is showing his inexperience in trying to play too expansive before we have built a solid base.

As The attacking free flowing that team he created last season was all but sold/let go from under him.

5 key players gone

No other side has has that
Carrick seemed ok losing 29 goals for 12m
If he’d said no it wouldn’t have happened and chuba stays so this is on carrick

This is all not on Carrick, defo agree there. And he is apparently unhappy with promises broken by the club re; signings. It is the same old thing all over again. Warnock went on about it and we all know what happened next

Can honestly see Carrick walking on us if this sh1te continues. Losing Giles and Akpom has really hurt things in the dressing room I have heard and read and the dreadful start, Carrick being irked .. none of it bodes well. I get it that not everything is perfect day in and day out running a football club but I think we're going to stumble as the window closes, Carrick will see he has probably taken this lot as far as he can

I am tired of it. Same old thing over and over ... I will be shocked if MC is still in charge in ten games' time. I don't think that is bed-wetting or being hysterical. Huge holes in the side and some players are made out to be far more than they actually are. God knows what has happened to Fry

I long for the days we were winning five games in a row when Carrick arrived, but even then we were shipping goals for fun. I thought we were on to something, and were actually going to show some ambition in rebuilding this Summer ... ha ha ha. Lame does not cut it. When are we going to begin to address this, we were an embarrassment today.

Be nice if there was some clarity on the remit, or direction of the club. As usual there’s radio silence, but it doesn’t matter when we’ve sold 21000 season tickets.
Gotta say I’m not a fan of this in general. Leicester, Wolves and Everton boards came out and did the whole “we’ve got no money left, so deal with it” spiel and it kills morale, kills expectations, basically tells the players who are left that they are rubbish, and gives everyone an excuse to underachieve.

Judge it with your own eyes. I don’t need the chairman to go on Radio Tees to tell me what’s happening when I can see it for myself. If the team is full of cheap young potential and we’re losing our best players, then it speaks for itself. The ambition will always be to get promoted though, what’s the point in playing otherwise.

Will also say that I’ll judge the quality of recruitment when we start improving players and selling them for more than we buy. The new recruitment team have been an abject failure at that - Tav (academy), Spence (academy) and Chuba (bombed out of the team for a year) have been the only three players who went for any money, no one else has added to their value. You could make an argument for Isiah Jones for a few months. But there’s 3 Hoppes / Clarkes / Payeros / Ameobis for every Chuba.

Who would we make a profit on in the whole squad if we sold them all tomorrow? Only Hackney (academy).

Carrick can only work with the tools hes given and this summer he has been badly let down. Any manager would struggle with this squad its very poor, it lacks experience, depth, leadership, physicality and quality. Replacing chuba with a guy who was extremely mediocre at Blackpool is an absolute joke. Ive said it before we look and play like an under 21 development team against seasoned championship teams. We are in big trouble.
